quick question on the 2860 turbos

alrite gents

was going to go down the single turbo route but its turning out to be too expensive..so ive decided on 2860s...the new engine is a 2.7

just wondering when the following will kick in and what sort of power the below give:

2860-5
2860-7
2860-10

ive got a 2.7 now..with some 280 cams.

any info would be great

Too many variables mate...

I've seen 450hp from -7, 600hp from -5, not too sure about -10 (don't know anyone with this set-up)

Generally the -5 is a good 500rpm laggier then the -7... But since you have the 2.7 this will narrow it down..

Have a read.. Worth it's weight (if any ) in Gold!

Good luck bud

With the extra capacity and larger cams, which will be most efficient at high rpms, the -7's will run out of puff. -5's would keep it nice and responsive because of the extra cubes, but keep pulling all the way to the redline.

5's would spool very very quickly but limit top end power to 600 ish.
Be an awesome road car, track car setup.

1.5 bar is a good limit for these (they can run 2.0 as per kismet - but will wear much faster)

400whp at 0.9 bar is a good figure, if you have the supporting mods get the boost up to 1.5 as it is a massive difference in power delivery

We have a pair of -5's on our TimeAttack car. We will aim for 550 or so with 1.5/1.6bar

550 is easy at 1.5 bar - I made 500 at the wheels with a crap conservative map at that boost. With 1.6 and a good track map you'll be closer to 600 at the crank.

I need to start shopping for spare turbos. I estimate about 5000km life left in mine. 20,000km between rebuilds on turbos may seem ridiculous, but then you haven't felt what 2 bars on these are like!!
