Respraying engine covers

Hi all

I would love to get my engine covers resprayed, i.e. front cambelt cover, centre coilpack cover plate and both camshaft covers. How easy a job is it to remove these and is there anything I should be wary of? I'm not the most clued up when it comes to engines.

Thanks in advance for your help

Dead simple to take off bud, just remember to mark your CAS and make sure it goes back on in exactly the same position.

and if you don't want the car off the road longer than necessary you could try one of these:

How much do a set of RB26 cam covers usually go for 2nd hand?

I you do remove the CAM COVERS beware of the half moon oil seals (imagine a 2p cut in half and about 1cm thick) that are at the back of the cam covers as its not obvious they are there.

They can either come off stuck to the cam cover, stay stuck to the head, drop into your engine (BAD!!) or in my case drop on the floor, not realise and then p*ss engine oil all over the firewall when you start the engine up again.
