i've recently personally collected and presented a 3000 signature petition to my local mayor campaining against the doubling of local parking charges. ive also attended council meetings and had numerous articles in the local press.

Just making people aware that even when they're forced onto public transport, it won't be any cheaper for them in the long run. Making sure people see that and don't give up their cars willingly. As soon as the car is removed as a competitor, public transport operators will screw everyone blind, as will the Scottish twat and his successors.

I keep hearing how congestion is costing the economy billions but the whole point of having a strong economy is to enjoy a good quality of life. If quality of life has to be completely sacrificed for a strong economy then there's no point. A compromise has to be struck.

And you think your petitions will achieve anything. At best they'll postpone something. You can't change the political landscape with petitions. You can't change it by voting. When the directors of the companies fighting to install cameras on the motorways and force you onto public transport are the ones funding the election campaigns, who you vote for doesn't count for shit. Are you too stupid to understand that? Don't you see how policy decisions and the associated votes are decided through internal blackmail and bribery. How all of a sudden information will come out about somebody, various letters promising rewards.
