Xenon's need a clean up

Hello there,
My problem is, I have some xenon lights on my R33, the lenses have seen better days, and on the inside of the lights they have what looks like mould and damp in there. Is there any way to get this sorted meaning polished/cleaned without going to the expense of buying new xenon's which aint cheap at the best of times?!!?

Thanks in advance.

You can take them apart and clean them its not easy though. If you do a search on here there is a guide to doing it

ok you need to remove the headlights and then remove the silver metal clips that hold the lens on then put them in an oven on a low temp i think about 80degrees its just to melt the sealant that glues the lens on.

You can then clean them up with brasso or some car polish

you then need to clean off all the sealant its well sticky and takes a while then just glue them back together with sealant and put the clips back on

Just some bathroom/kitchen silicon sealant will do the job

There is a good write up on headlight cleaning on the Scoobynet site. It'll tell you what temp and how long to leave your lights in the oven and also how to re-seal them. I think it is also on the Supra site but try the Scooby site first

its very easy, leave them in the oven for 10min at 80 Degrees celcius and remember to turn them so it gets heated up on both sides, then start at the end of the headlight that mounts the front grill and go from there. You dont need to reseal them, you just heat the items up again and put them back together.

On my 33 it was the outside of the lense that needed a good clean as it turned completely milky. I took the ligts off and used 2000 thou wet and dry until all imprefections were removed then i porter cabled with Menzerna IP followed by Menzerna power gloss. The result was amazing. They looked better than new and silky smooth imho. I topped it off with a good wax sealant for protection.
