Noise from front on hard braking ??
Hope someone has an idea because I don't !!
Noticed today that I have what I can only describe as a grinding noise coming from the front of my 97 RSFour Stagea when braking heavily. I know it is not the pads and discs as I have had them off and checked them. It only happens when the front dips. On light braking there is no noise at all. New to the vehicle so anyone have any ideas ???? ![]() |

Hi martin and thanks for the reply.
I wish the answer was that simple ! The Stagea is stock although I was thinking could it be the wheel bearings or would I get the noise constantly if that were the case. Just thinking of the load on the front hubs when braking heavily. |

If it was the wheel bearings i think it would do it more when cornering rather than breaking and also i dont think it would make a grinding noise there would just be more road noise you could try tightening the drive shaft nut and see if this makes any difference if it does its the wheel bearing
