mega money

new the unit is £1400-£1500ish then the nismo is £500ish

then yourl need all the sensors etc

we wont get involved with supplying these things into non 34gtrs though.

My MFD LCD looks pretty shit.. I'll take a picture and post it on here in a bit. I know of another guy with the same problem. Perhaps its the heat here in Malaysia? I still dont know what to do or how to get a replacement LCD... the local Nissan dealer doesnt know of the part number as they dont import GTRs into the country..

I had the same problem. My LCD had the same appearance. I too thought the LCD was stuffed! After crapping my pants when I found out the cost of a replacement MFD, I decided I should really have a closer look! When I pulled the screen out, the cracking was only the outer layer of polarizing film stuck to the glass on the front of the LCD. After hours of searching the net for a solution, basically you have two much cheaper alternatives if this turns out to be your problem too...I found a company based in India that sell the LCD (cost was approx $300AUD inc. shipping to Aust). The second (and the path I went down) was to carefully peel the is cracked layer off the glass and thoroughly clean it, found and ordered a self adhesive sheet of polarizing film (from a company based in the States) and stuck it on the glass as per instructions that came with it. Grand cost was approximately $60AUD including postage!! Screen looked brand new again! Hope this helps.

Sorry for the late reply, been real busy with work & not being able to easily acess the internet...

Anyway, here is what my mfd looks like...

I know, doesnt it look like crap??

drgav@optusnet, did your mfd look like mine? Id be really happy if mine could be fixed as easily as yours was... and if it is... any idea where can I find that self adhesive polarizing film from? An webite or phone number would be greatly appreciated... *fingers crossed*

It sure does look the same as what mine did! Have a look at this link: LCD Polarizer,LCD Polarizers,LCD repair, lcd screen repair - 3Dlens.com or just google "polarizing film". Otherwise I have a MFD which I can sell to you and take yours as a changeover (I broke a steering arm in my 34 V-Spec and wrote it off ...'coz you tend to hit stuff when you can't steer!)
Hope this info helps!
