Gearbox oil?????

Anyone know how many litres of oil i will for the gearbox and tranfer boxes??

It is the same stuff for both? and anyone recommend any that i can get off the shelf from Halfords??

I think it's 3.8 litres (I've just bought 4 litres odd so it'd better be).

If it helps I bought this oil - REDLINE HEAVY ShockProofâ„¢ Gear Oil 75w-140 - as I have a crunch going into 4th under heavy load.

When I get round to changing it I'll let you know if it's done the trick.

BTW you might want to consider changing the diff oil too. I'm betting that it's never been changed in the 18 odd years my car's been about so mgiht as well do that when I'm down there. I think that's 1.7 litres capacity and this is what I've bought - Silkolene BOA 90 LS High Performance Gear And Limited Slip Differential Oil
