Brake Disc advice...

Can anyone advise where and what brake discs to go for all round on an r33 gtr? I dont mind sourcing overseas...

I have noticed this kit on a popular internet auction site but have never used them before and am not sure if it is false economy? Im not running huge power.

any advice welcomed... cheerZ in advance

I don't consider myself an expert on brakes, but these seem to be a little overly slotted? Why not take some EBC, they're also easy sourcable in the UK!

For the brake pads, I went DS2500, I don't like the EBC pads (had two sets on another car, after the first one I removed the brake-in-coating from the second set with a grinder.. Horrible stuff..)

im with stachi.
i too hate ebc pads, but if you want a street car, go for ferodo ds2500.

i track my car often and i still have my ds2500 but i will change them asap.

DS2500's are hard on the discs and will wear them out quicker than the EBC. I have always used EBC Red and yellows and always bn very happy...

I put those discs with Mintex Extreme pads all round on my R32 GTR and the quality of the items seemed good. However I never got time to fully bed them in before the new owner picked the car up (I told him of course!) so I couldn't comment on how they performed, except that they squealed alot - more than the Ferodo 2500s and Std discs on there before anyway.

The new owner reported that the brakes were fine though.

I also have these discs on my R32. They completely destroyed a set of standard pads in a few hundred miles but my Ferodo DS3000's are holding up fine

I managed to kill a set of EBC Greenstuff (don't ask) with some heavily slotted discs in lessthan 3,000 miles. Usually pads last me forever as I'm quite light on the brakes. I should also add that this wasn't on my Skyline.

With what I assume to be a harder compound I got a much longer life out of the next set. The discs did resist fade much better plain discs though.

EBC discs and red stuff pads for me, no problems with repeated 100+mph heavy breaking stops on millbrook. Going to try 2500's next time see how they differ.
