Hi Guys,

seems to be yet more inconsistencies with booking of race academy places again.
Yes, i cancelled my order mainly because of this, and yes, i never received, and still haven;t received any communication about partner being able to join me.
so, like rory, i will watch events unfold and may still order a car once they are physically on these shores and have a track record behind them for service etc.
Performance and enjoyment i think (from reading from other owners) is unquestionable, and to this extent i'm clearly disappointed at not getting a car. however, the experience for me and wife is far more than just this, therefore we are quire happy to sit and wait.
Cheers for now

Hi Mate,
sorry, been busy trying to track down and view dinos over past few weeks! - seems to be wrong time of year to get one (have found quite a few now, but sellers still sticky on pricing), so am happy taking my time with viewings/test drives etc. - other half took a fancy to a murcielago that was for sale at top Gear cars (can highly recommend Carlo over there - he looks after my 355 spider), so again, just something to mull over..........
Hey, it turns out you know big Dunc at Hypertech too - wow, what a coincidence. Duncan has recently been doing the mods on my Scooby P1 - 2.5 conversion, big turbo, injectors etc - heard he looks after your supe too.
Let me know when you are next heading over there and we can perhaps meet up - i live 5 mins away from Hypertech.
Duncan looks after most of the fleet for me, and i cant recommend Hypertech highly enough for those of you looking for high performance serving/modd'ng etc
Cheers

Welcome back Suprabro!

Yes, I've been meaning to contact you about Duncan. Did you hear what happened?

I've been going to Hypertech for 10 years now. During my last visit Duncan was asking me if I had my delivery date yet. When I told him that I was getting my GT-R in December 2009, he was telling me about his friend/customer that was getting an early car in the "special silver" colour. Then, about 10 minutes later, it suddenly occurred to me to ask him if he knew you because you're local and you have a P1. I couldn't believe the coincidence when he said "That's who I was talking about earlier!". He was as surprised as everyone on this forum when I told him you'd cancelled your GT-R!

So, tell me this, how did you feel after watching the Top Gear review? You surely must have had second thoughts after that?

Have you any idea what Nobles/Nissan did with your place in the queue? Now that Nissan have revised their position about bringing guests to the Driver Training, did you consider seeing if your place was still available? I know there was more to it than that, but were you tempted?

It would be great to meet up one time that I'm through at Hypertech. The next time will probably be in the next couple of weeks as I'm waiting for some parts for the air-con on the Supra. I will email you when the parts arrive.

Are you still planning/allowed to go to Nobles for the GT-R evening?

cheers suprabro,

Kinda weird we both know big Dunc eh?? - he looks after all our cars and i cant recommend him enough.

Yep, would be sorely tempted to jump back into the ordering process now i know guests can attend - its still the principle of the thing though! - they must have knowwn there would have been a requirement - why no-one contacted me about this option though i really dont know. - after watching topgear my thoughts about the car are unchanged - it delivers exactly what i always thought it would deliver. However, the rest of the package is important to my wife and I, and its here that we still feel really let down.

My heart says jump back in and try to get my order re-instated (heaven only knows the hassle that it will probably be now!) or continue to wait and watch. There is always the import route and i might investigate that too.

But the Dino search is taking priority at the mo, and contiuning to get the P1 mod'd. Dunc and i are not far off 400bhp, and 420 torque with it. - thats my target. - we've got the handling and braking totally awesome with some really good mods, and powerwise its almost there!!

Please let me know wqhen you're taking the supe over and yes, lets meet up.

Not sure whether i'm still permitted to attend on the 19th, probably not!

hopefully meet you soon supraman.

Are Nobles the Edinburgh dealer? I'll be in Edinburgh for the fringe from Aug 16th to the 23rd so I'll miss the GT-R at Middlehursts (my local dealer). If so, are they near the centre - I'm ashamed to say that we are going up on the train so I won't have a car!

Yes, Nobles are the Edinburgh HPC - the only one in Scotland. I haven't been there myself yet, but their details are:

Swinton Place
Stration
Loanhead
Edinburgh
EH20 9FB

Tel: 0131 440 5353

Maybe see you there!

I am thinking of going to see an R34GTR he has there at the moment, but at 376 miles from me rather got put off...so you can recommend the garage then?
T
p.s. can understand your reasons for the cancelled order, but personally I would've kept my hand in.

Toni

go and see carlo

he is a good guy and i have not known anybody say a bad word about him

he will show you around his "collection" of cars and both Glasgow and Edinburgh have very good shopping centres

i can also recommended a good hotel

as you know, the cars genuine and has no probs

usually take the wife up for a "shopping spree" once a year
