motorways and idiots
so i had to use the motorway everyday this week and damn does it give me roadrage, you got bloody trucks overtaking each other occupying the first two lanes and reducing speeds, then you got the people who quickly move in the overtaking lane just because of lorries in front and drive slow then move slowly back over causing you to brake
not to mention that the whole motorway comes to a halt because of busy slip roads i always stay in the overtaking lane in my skyline, GET OUT OF MY WAY DAMNIT I HAVE A SKYLINE!!!1!1!1 ![]() |

lane discipline is garbage I agree, car drivers are the biggest cuplrits though, lorries overtaking each other is part and parcel so just have to be patient as most of them will do their best to minimise hassle, there are the right tits though that just dont care and hol dyou up for miles giving the rest of them a bad name.
UK driving on the whole is all wrong, more education and better training is needed as the underlying problem is not speed, or whatever campaign the government are spouting at the time, it's bad driving, lack of roadcraft, lack of ability. Ross |

THANKYOU!!! makes a change for someone too realize, that not all lorry drivers are out there too hold up everybody else. i'm glad someone looks at the bigger picture i was out today in my truck, loading for the 3rd day running at goodwood, post festival of speed. on my way back, i was on the a27, i noticed a truck, coming down the slip road too join the a27, i glanced in my mirror, and as it was clear, pulled out too help ease his passage onto the a27. so he joined, and the front of my truck, was nigh on level with his, so, as we are both limited at approx 56mph, i assumed he'd do the decent thing, and ease off, just enough, until i was passed him, so that i could pull back too the nearside, but oh no, he keeps his foot buried, and leaves me out there, in the outside lane, like a lemon. after half a mile, i can see, he is happy too leave me stranded out there as this was only a 2 lane stretch of dual carriageway, i decide, too back off too 50, and slot in behind him, so as too free up the outside lane, for joe bloggs the public, "and those of you that do own the road" too continue merrily on your way. the only thanks i got for this, was a beep and a certain anchor type sign, from the passing audi driver, who i'd just freed up, to get on his way as others have said, lane discipline, and basic lack of roadcraft are more too blame than anything else. |

most do, but unfortunately, there is always the minority, that give everybody else a bad name. all boils down too common sense, and awareness, and as much as i hate too admit it, some of the truckers out there, have appaling standards on the whole, most are pretty good, and wouldn't deliberately take up 2 lanes, of a 2 lane motorway, (such as much of the m11) for mile after mile whilst overtaking, but the occasional pair of idiots do same goes for foreign drivers, good and bad. what you have too bear in mind, is for the foreign trucks, they have the disadvantage of being in left hand drive trucks, and trust me, when you drive something thats 50ft long, 7ft wide, and 40 tonne, for upto 800km's a day, it takes immense concentration, so the odd carve up, is inevitable. we regularly go too spain and portugal, (i'm off too seville saturday) with 40 tonne of steel, in a right hand drive truck, so overtaking on motorways, and judging roundabouts and offset junctions, takes a certain knack. thats before you throw in the mountain roads, with massive long climbs, and long downhill descents, where you really rely on engine braking, and the gearbox. i could waffle on and bore you for ages. the only way too really get it though, is too go out for a spin in the passenger seat of an artic, i bet it would really shock you, the room we require, and the stunts people pull around us all the time ![]() |

Sometimes it's just so bad that I spontaniously start tailgating everyone that drives slower then necessary until they move over let me get on with my journey. (Not that I am one off those c*cks who always drives on they ouside lane while doing twice the speedlimit, but sometimes enough simply is enough and everyone needs to get out off my way as quickly as possible ) |

Everyone should have a drive in a large underpowered van/truck to understand what the van/truck drivers have to tackle when on the roads, car drivers think the power delivery on a large vehicle is same as a car & this really sucks as the truckers always get the middle finger!
![]() What ever happened to the "Keep left unless overtaking" rule? I learned this when i was at school, a good school back then, the headmaster made it clear that you should always walk to the left of a corridor so the people will move around more efficiently! Society today eh! ![]() |

sorry but the vast majority of idiots on the mway are in cars:
I can be doing 70-80mph in the middle lane and someone will join at a slip road in the left, bury their nose up against the truck in front of them (who may just have to slam on) then rather than slow down and slot in behind me which must add an extra 4 seconds on their journey noooo... they insist on wheeling out into the middle lane THEN indicating causing me to slow down to 55mph too or something. other irritations are: People who sit at 60mph in middle lane ppl who sit up the arses of other car drivers ppl who do 110mph+ in piss wet weather "ooh I'll beat the weather" LOOK AT THE FECKING SKY ITS A GREY SHEET THAT GOES ON AS FAR AS THE EYE CAN SEE AARRRRRGHGHGHGH! ppl who chuck rubbish out their cars ppl who use the mobiles on the mway (or any road for that matter) ppl in 4x4's who flit up the hard shoulder in slow moving traffic mway blockages that occur for no reason that ppl rubbernecking an accident. just get on with your life unless you intend to stop and help EVERY SODDING ARSE UNDERTAKES oooh this one gets my goat big time. I can understand approaching a sliproad but for no good reason your just asking for trouble. tbh I think the only ppl who DO behave on the roads are LORRY drivers but the majority of public see them as an inconvenience. See how inconvenienced their lives are when those lorries dont get the goods they want to fecking purchase delivered around the country on time. Every time I've overtook and gone to slot back in to the left in busy traffic they pip their lights to let me know its ok and they're not going to slam into the back of me. They indicate and pull out slowly, they nearly ALWAYS thank you (hazard light wink) and even passing them afterwards most put their hand up in the window in a show of thanks. The problem aint trucks its the fecking sheep public. ah feel better now |

sky 1t and anthonymcgrath.
nice 1. makes a change for some pro truck driver comments. 1 of my points has always been....look around your office, house, car, etc, anything, pretty much anything and everything you use, would have at some stage spent its time on the back of a truck. |
