Defective N1 oil pump

Hey guys 3 months ago my motor crapped out on my way back from a show. The thrust bearings were shot and the crank slapped the block, blew the clutch, and scared the main bearings among a few other things. when I put the turbo setup in the car I knew the stock oil pump is the weak point of the motor so I put in the N1 pump, I dont need the $1000 Tomei pump for the numbers Im putting out so I figured the N1 would be just fine. Yesterday the motor was finally done and the car was ready to go. As I pulled up my tuner did not have a happy look on his face. he said they were tuning it all day and they took it out just before I got there and they were sitting at a light and the oil light came on. When the motor died 3 months before yesterday when I was at idle the light was on aswell so this wasnt a good sign. I know Nissan put out a defective batch of pumps and I fear I got one of them. Hes picking up the car today and switching out the oil pump to see if it solves the problem.
What do you guys think about all this? I hope the only problem is the pump and it didnt do any damage again.
Thanks
Jay

N1 oil pumps haven't suddenly become bad, what I heard from one tuner is that there are fake N1 oil pumps being sold on the market, which don't come from Nissan. These are the crux of a lot of people's problems.

Be sure to buy genuine goods and you won't have such problems. Ebay isn't always the best place to buy your low priced tuning parts..

I just called and asked if it was the sensor and he highly doubts it. He said hes gonna check it to make sure its still good. Hopefully thats all it is but I cant help but think that the pump caused the motor to fail last time.

I have an N1 oil pump that I got from a reputable source (jdmspeedshop.com) that came in a nissan box, in nissan packaging.

Motor should be running in a week, I guess we'll see

Hello, this is Patrick at RHDJapan. We have tried to call LM24 on a couple different occasions however with the time difference it makes it a little bit more difficult to get in contact with NY from Japan. Anyhow, we have sent an e-mail via the contact information on their site and are now awaiting a response. Hopefully we can successfully troubleshoot the problem and come to an understanding resolution.
p.s. We have been selling these Genuine Nissan OEM N1 Pumps for several years and have never had a problem in the past nor have we heard about these items ever being defective.

I have the pump sitting in my room. There is a lot of scaring on the gears and on the pump itself. I put a new N1 in and now runs fine. From day one when I would get into boost it wouldnt go above 3bar. With the new pump it would be around 4bar in low boost and with the oil at a warm temp. If you would like I could take pics and put them here or send them to you to get a better idea of what happened.

forgive as i'm new to skyline thing, but on cars that had oil pump problems i'd always cut the filter open, and usually drop the pan, but im not sure thats too much of option on the awd rb cars.
