i have a 2.5l non turbo engine and want to know if i can put a half decent turbo on with out any major moding? I have been told i would need to up grade pistons head gasket etc but im looking to know is there a way of putting a turbo onto this without doing all this or am i better buying a 2.5 turboed engine.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

best bet is to get a turbo engine with wiring loom, ecu, down pipe, intercooler piping and brackets. you can have it swapped in a day.
Japan Import Car ltd Skyline Parts Specialist/Breakers sells complete engines that will do the trick, was about 1.7k when i did mine but that was a few years ago.

you can put a stock turbo exhaust manifold, rb25 turbo, all the oil/water lines and intercooler piping etc, turbo injectors/loom/ecu and you will be sweet. I have mates back home in nz that do this all the time, mostly using left over parts from people that have upgraded their setup.

it will run like a stock rb25det on stock boost but with more torque and response due to the extra compression. make sure you run good gas and dont turn the boost up too much as it will detonate easily
