Hi from Brisbane: I have a problem

Not the best way to greet you all in the General maintenace section of this forum, but its better than nothing.

I am an active member of skylinesaustralia.com in Aus and I have posted my problem there with not much luck, so I thought I might give it a go here.

My r32 gtr has been suffering a stutter/hesitation/misfire, one of those, for some time now. It has been doing this for around a year now. The first instance it happened was after I tried Shell V-power Racing (100RON BUT 5% ethanol), and after I got a my new 5-puck button clutch.

To put it quite simply, the car will do its stutter/hesitation/misfire under 1/2 to full throttle. At low rpm such as 2000-4000 its jumpy higher than that its like the car is farting all the way to 8000. The car will rev all the way out, but with the jumping and farting all the way.

Things I have done to try and fix and fail to fix it are:
New spark plugs
Changed coils
changed coil loom
changed coil ignitor
change air flow meters
changed transfer case fluid
change gearbox fluid

there about the major things. I have also tried a few other things without success.

My gtr is on stock boost, at times saw 12psi, exhaust system, intakes, blitz bov's, thats about it.

Any help towards this would be kindly appreciated as I have not enjoyed the drive for such a long time and its really depressing =)

what gap are you running your plugs at? there is another sub-loom that apparently fails with heat also, but somewhat uncommon. at 12psi I'd look for NGK racing plugs @ heat range 7 or 8 and a 0.8mm gap.

Also, check for leaks round all the intercooler/turbo/vacuum pipes too.

Ive got the factory recommended 1.1mm gap with the NGK iridiums heat range 6. Where is this sub loom you speak of?

btw, I am back to stock boost.

I will check again for any vacuum leaks. when you say around the turbo, have you got anywhere specific?
I installed a mint condition r32 intercooler so i know the joins are good.

thanks

try re-gapping your plugs if you are running slightly higher boost gap to 0.8mm even 0.7

Plug gap mate, 0.8mm and you will be sorted. Would change to grade 7's if running 12 or so psi though
