Turbo Flow rates

I am not sure how you determine whether a turbo is suitable for an application or not. I gather it has to do with the amount of air it can deliver? I am loking at tuning my RB26 or going RB30 for around 600bhp. How many Kg/s will a turbo need to be able to flow to give this power? If you were going for a single turbo that is? I see people talking about A/R but I don't know what that means. Please can someone help.

Thank you
Lee
