everything was ok until the greddy boost controller was fitted took her for a spin

and can hear a ticking noise coming from the top of the engine near the turbo also she is not ticking over correctly she feels like its missing

its revving from 500 to 1000 has anybody got any solutions please.M6BEG

If its a high pitched, irregular tick, then I think you'll find its the boost controller solenoid and is nothing to worry about.

Irregular idle though..... Not sure about that one. You haven't overboosted and goosed the plugs or something like an intake gasket maybe?

Exhaust manifold cracked ?

Have a look for missing studs.

Oh, or it may be the VVT solenoid clicking on off as the idle races, but this is on the intake side of the engine at the front.

thank you for replying the ticking noise follows acceleration the faster you go the faster the ticking noise gets

Was anything else fitted at the same time ?

Is the ticking noise audible at idle, or only when you take the car for a run ?

my local garage who put all the gear on the car has found the problem in 2 seconds

it is a stud that has sheered off it is in tomorow to get sorted hopefully not a big job the guys at the garage all have skylines

Which garage you using? Might need to have a new exhaust fitted to the R32 soon and need to get some quotes. PM me if you don't want to post name in public.
