put diesel in my tank

made a **** up and put £20 of diesel in my tank in error drove out of the forcourt and the car stopped got some mates to come and help me drain the tank out and then went back and put 50 of fuel not diesel this time it started ok but smoke,s a bit now, so the Q is as it is smoking under load should i take the injectors out and get them cleaned and the fuel rail cleaned or just run it and let the diesel be cleaned by the petrol clean it through, as ontick over it smokes alittle and you can smell the diesel, has anybody done this and how did you sort it out ????? thank you for all your forth coming help, I hope .heers john

20 quid of diesel was the tank full of petrol and you were just topping up ? Should be ok Not like you went far .Good job for you you dont get much fuel £20.00 these days .Will smoke for a bit though .

Around 4 years ago i put £1.80 of Diesel in my tank before i realised, topped it right up with super unleaded and never had a problem, i did drive it steady for a few tanks though.

you should be fine will just take a tank or two to get rid, did itin my R33 years ago and was fine after a week
