where I stick my sat nav

I know I need to get a new smaller sat nav but using a vent clip and sticking it here works for me. Its close to the power socket as well

there was a lot of talk of the first UK cars come without sat nav. My car has japanese sat nav which is not a lot of good....

loads of threads talking about sticking it in the glasses holder (near the rear view mirror) or pop out dvd (hard to do)

stick it here it works and they are cheap, you have a vent on the other side anyway

and yes I'm enjoying a nice french red

Steve,

Saw your post. Are you saying all cars - even the pre Sept 09 deliveries will now have sat nav? Do you mind telling me if that is still a "rumour" or been verified somehow? I have an Apr 09 delivery as I could not wait and lose summer 09. Was hoping for something like this sort of news.. even if it cost extra... thanks

pre Sept 09 will not have SAT NAV. It's true it's now standard as they do not want to sell the car without now, hence the price increase.

I believe that all NEW cars will now have the Sat Nav as standard and that the "pre ordered" cars will have a retro fit, from the info I have from a NHPC

I use this

to secure my Garmin Nuvi just above the MFD. The design allows it to be placed in areas that aren't exactly flat.

Steve, My HPC is Motorline. Which HPC is saying this? I am at the London motorshow tomorrow so will also ask there. I assume we will need to pay the GBP 1,900 for the retrofit.

I have been told that my July 09 car will not have sat nav and the price will be reduced by £1900, not sure about the retro fit but the reason the early cars dont come with sat nav is Nissan are still working on the english version. Hope this helps.

Went to the London motroshow last night and spent some time in the VIP lounge with the White GTR / Black edition.

Have to say that while the people there were nice they had no clues about the GTR. I found out they were not Nissan people or from a HPC dealer just some third party contractors.

Also, car was LHD, US Spec. Would a RHD even if it were Jap Spec not make more sense given (as I was told) that the "Race Academy" Days will use the Jap Spec car.

People there could not provide any clues on whether Race Academy cars will be limited and also they knew nothing about a retro fix for the pre-Sept cars.

All pre-Sept 2009 recipients should keep the pressure up on Nissan GB. Surely a retro fix must be within the realms of technological possibility.

I was told by Nissan have no intention on retro fitting the sat nav as it means a new loom and the screen would need replacing also, they say that it would be extremley prohibitive due to cost and labour.

Mind you they did say we couldn't bring anyone to Silverstone
