Yeah same as in NZ, RB30s from VLs and R31s are all over the show. Hope it stays that way for a while, I'd like a go too Nissan never went 2.6 because it was better, it was to meet class regs if I remember rightly.

Guess RIPS has set a pretty good benchmark if people want to do a tuner off thing - a good qualifier would be someone else should get a full weight R34 GTR to reach 144mph in the 1/4 mile... or whatever Ludders reaches when he gets a clean run.

In hind sight, maybe I should have/could have chosen my words a little more carefully so as not to wind anyone up but I still stand by the fact that our whp figures in street cars (with backed up 1/4 mile times and mph) are still almost identicle to the whp figures needed to do the 1/4 mile times and mph the UK boys are getting in their pro GTRs.

I think a good starting point would be, let any of them show us an RB engine they have built that makes 620whp @ 1 bar on 98 pump gas.

There is no disputing our dyno numbers as the same car, on the same fuel with same tune, once in the UK made more whp than we claimed.

Someone start a thread if your interested to carry on with this, I'm happy to participate and be open and honest about all facts and figures.

I really do find it quite sad that the same old guys pipe up, have a dig then don't have the balls to back up there negative comments.
If they are so sure I'm full of shyte and they are happy to reply to a thread saying so, surely they'd love to get involved and prove it???

Originally the R32 GT-R was planned to have a 2.4L RB24DETT, and compete in the 4000 cc class (in Group A rules, the displacement is multiplied by 1.7 if the engine is turbocharged). This was when Nismo was going through the process of designing the R32 GT-R to be a Group A race car. But when the engineers added the AWD system, it would make the car heavy and less competitive. Nismo made the decision to make the engine a 2.6L twin turbo, and compete in the 4500 cc class, resulting in the RB26DETT known today.

Looking forward to the build and another great show of workmanship, skill and passion gone into a R.I.P.S engine.

All i can see is the majority of UK tuners and people jealous that these guys are providing the level of goods and workmanship we all want.

I have never dealt with R.I.P.S personally but from just browsing this forum you can tell its not just about power output or pub ammo its the complete service you receive. Something the vast majority of UK tuners lack.

Pretty good at straight to the point and honest replies with great updates on this site.

Mad fabrication skills too!

Keep up the good work R.I.P.S and ignore all the haters

Where did i say ALL?

At the beginning of my sentence just before i said the word majority?

Read again please.

Those power figures are very impressive indeed. Is that in 4wd or two? also could you post a dyno plot and flow figures for the head. Have you ever built any combinations using the rb25neo head, it looks to have a better combustion chamber and slightly different port layout to the rb26?

in 4wd on a rolling road, not hub.

You should although I didn't instigate this thread, Conrad did, in fact he asked me if it was OK for him to do it due to the type of pictures he has from me.

I think you know where I'm comming from Dick, when it comes to the knockers, they spout off with nothing at all to back themselves up, they just presume I'm talking shyte because "how dare you imply that"

You know the results I post are correct, you've seen our cars run with your own eyes and even you have been a little surprised I think it would be fair to say.

The same old guys pipe up, have a moan, then go quiet, very sad indeed.

Anyway, as I've said before, if any of these guys want to start a thread to compare apples with apples I'm more than happy to contribute, no more on this thread please.

Rob

At Conrad's request, I have cleaned this thread up.

The next person(s) to bring the tuner argument to this thread gets banned.
