Hello! My Gunmetal R32 GTR

First pics of my car up on here... be gentle!!

Bought my R32 July last year after plenty of research on here (cheers for the help!). Was in relatively standard spec engine wise but had a set of Tein HR coilovers (dont know much about these, adjustable??), R34 brembo brakes, BBS LM wheels and a HKS exhaust (not sure what type).

All was going well and I decided to do a trackday at Aintree . Performed superbly all day but on the way home, what I thought was a large backfire turned out to be my rear turbo turbine wheel deciding to leave the party!

Has been off the road now for nearly 12 months as I've struggled to get time to do the work on it but now has the following upgrades:

GT-SS turbo's
Trust downpipes (a bugger to fit)
700cc injectors
25 row oil cooler with thermostat
apexi induction kit
nismo rad cap
splifire coil packs
hicas removed and locked
HEL braided brake lines
nismo fuel pump
SARD fuel pressure regulator
air con removed
nismo leather shift knob
Apexi power FC mapped by Rod Bell (great service)
an accusump with electronic valve (not yet fitted)
probably some other bits I've missed!

Thanks to Baz (p3rvert) for his help at the time and his mate John who came to help diagnose the turbine giving up the ghost!

Have joined the GTROC and look forwards to seeing you at a trackday/meet soon!

Here we go....

More to come when I've fitted the accusump, tidied the engine bay and sorted out the interior a little more!

Cheers, Chris

Hi Chris

Good to hear the car is back up and running. You have definitly missed a few parts out!

Clutch, have you fitted a twin plate?

What boost controller are you using and what boost(s) has been set?

You have the same TEIN coilovers as me, the HRs are height adjustable. I though your car handled alot better than my 32. My rear end became light under braking where as yours seemed to be very well balanced. I was also impressed with the R34 Brembo's and have since fitted a set to my 32.

Yes the head lights are the N1 versions.

Dont forget to give me or John a shout if you get stuck, will give you a txt to see if you want to come along to Trax.

Baz

scby rex: Sorry, don't really want to post up any under bonnet/hood pics just yet, it's a bit of a work in progress, will have to get my cam covers sprayed up (once I decide on what colour) and fit the accusump, then I'll get some pics up.

Hi Baz,

yeah you're right, missed a few bits! I believe the clutch is a twin plate (quite sharp and rattles alot!), had a peek and the plate appears to be gold in colour. Anyone any idea what sort?

The boost controller is the PFC boost control kit I (basically an Apexi AVCR controlled by the PFC??) it has been mapped for 0.9, 1.0, 1.1, and 1.2 Bar. This is with a std head gasket and pistons so thats about as much as is sensible I think. Even the 1.0 bar setting feels quicker than before so I'm happy.... for the moment!

Also it has Nismo AFMs as the stock ones were limiting at 1.1 and 1.2 bar.

Yeah thought you said the headlights were N1 at Aintree. They are yellow when the fog lamp button is on, is this normal?

Cheers for the offer of the help Baz, will have to call round for you to have a look sometime soon!

Cheers, Chris

It definitly poss you have a twin plate as it rattles. As for make possibly a OSG, not sure who else use's a gold cover.

As for the lights turning yellow Im not 100% sure what you mean.

What colour are they when your using the side lights, main and full beam?

If you are saying that when the Fog light switch on the dash is pressed the lights turn yellow, then someone has put yellow tint bulbs in the lights for when its foggy. Apparently you can see better with yellow LOL

Its easy to get rid off that though, just change the buld that is yellow to a normal style white bulb.

Give me call and we'll sort somethink out.
