Power FC Boost settings? Changing duty cycle?

I have noticed that my settings have changed in the boost settings, When Abbey mapped it it only had 2 settings, one at 1.15 & two 1.20, now there are two more appeared & the duty cycle has changed, i have done a search, i cant find enough info to understand it clearly,,

Here is a pic of my FC, From what im understanding it self learns to be more smoother the more you drive, what does it do if you change the cycle settings?

dunno - but I would assume changing the duty cycle settings will change the way it builds boost and the max boost it allows - but I will let other more expert people comment on that.

what I have read on here is that after a while, the PFC boost goes "soft" and resetting your duty cycle settings will sort it out and return your boost to its original glory!

that's self learning - smoother is one way to put it. I personally feel that the boost builds less aggressively, so I routinely reset it. If you wanted to, you could change the "26" to "28", and then back to "26" - you'd have the same exact boost setting, but the self-learning would be erased. The boost solenoid would then be more aggressive until it learns to hit the preset boost level more smoothly.

Wow, your duty cycles...mine are set around 80!!

Duty cycle is the frequency in short bursts that the sol has to perform, think of it as walking up a a set of stairs, one at a time and it takes a long time to get to the level you want. Larger cycle take 3 steps at a time, you get there faster, but you might over shoot and then you have jump back again. Too smaller steps and you never get to the level, too bug and youre boost will occilate and not level out.

Everything you need to know here -see 'How to configure optional boost control kit'

http://paulr33.skylinesaustralia.com...owerfc-faq.htm

the end fig starts at 255 and is self learn. fig before that is the solenoid duty cycle and the higher the figure the higher the boost - yours is all topsy turvy!!

Cheers,
