What happens next?
Couldn't find any hello threads so I'll post in here.
After looking at this car for some time I've decided to go for it and placed an order with Sims in Oxford on Friday afternoon. From what I have read I think I have made the right decision. The next car was going to be a 2nd hand Porsche Turbo or V8 Vantage but as this will be new and outperform them both it's a good choice. I'll drive my Cayman until then. I was told expect delivery in summer 2010! So whats going to keep me interested? I am going to Oxfords on thr 13th as MrsB wants to see the car. What's the gen on these track days? Anyway thanks for reading Bully |

Welcome aboard.
Bad news is that you will have to wait for the next set of Academy days, which I am sure will be early next year. This lot were 99% for those on the pre-order list held by the dealers at the beginning of April this year. Basically. there is a half day at Silverstone (with catering before and after) that you get to drive a lhd R35 around the National Circuit and do drifting in a 350Z - not sure how long you get at each though (until 21st when i go). We also receive a free Arai race helmet to keep (I hope) on the day. I am sure those that are going to the academy (which only started today) will post up full details in due course. Enjoy the 2 year wait!! David |

At my recent visit to the Motorshow I asked the Guy who was the Nissan Tecnical adviser and who i was told would answer questions about all things GTR, so i asked several questions one of which was about whether we get to keep the Lid for the Track days and he said only if you pay for the complete Race Academy (Expensive) where you get your Race license
so it will be interesting to see if thats accurate or not CJ |

Helmet is unpersonalised, free and yours to keep, name is embroidered on the helmet bag - so you have to make sure if you put it down without putting it back in the bag that you know which one is yours!

Agreed, the helmets are all the same, but you do have one allocated to you based on the size details you filled in on the registration form.
I, and some other drivers found the general sizings to be on the tight side and we were able to swap for a larger helmet, but I imagine that option was only available as we were in the first groups, as time goes on I would imagine that any helmets they had available for such scenarios would be used up. As a guide, I ordered a medium helmet as my head was 58cm, but I ended up needing an XL to be comfortable. If people are between sizes then I would definitely err on the larger size. |
