Having been testing with an early release Beta model accessPORT for the last few weeks, we are happy to announce the production model is very close ! World wide public release will be 18th Aug.. so hold off from buying those nextek's as the accessPORT will do that service and much more ![]() A release date has been set for the GT-R (R35) AccessPORT, designed to work on both the Japanese and North American model vehicles. As Nissan releases the GT-R in new markets, updates will be issued to support these models. Retail pricing: North America : $995 USD Japan: 130,000 Yen Singapore: $1650 SGD Europe (EU): 800 EUR United Kingdom (UK): 650 GBP Australia: $1195 AUD The public release date for sales to begin will be set for August 18th. The maps (flashes) that will be programmed on the AccessPORT are as follows: Stage 1 (for stock cars, including cat-back exhaust) Stage 2 (for cars with full aftermarket exhausts, including decat) Anti Theft (security mode, car will not start) Valet Mode (reduces rev limit and power level, so car can not be driven aggressively by others) Stock Style (normal tune with only speed limiter removed) Economy (maximum fuel economy mode, sacrificing performance for better fuel economy) Any updates to this maps, or additional maps, will be made available for download from the Cobb website at no additional charge. More offical news, including official dyno results, will be made available on the public release date of 18th Aug AccessPORT for GT-R (R35) Feature List: • Reflashes ECU through factory Data Port (OBD) • Ability to uninstall and revert back to original (stock) ECU data • Ability to store multiple maps on unit, allows switching between maps at user's convenience • Ability to read DTCs (trouble codes) from the ECU, BCM, Multi-AV, IPDM, Pre-crash Seat Belt, Meter/M&A, and Adaptive HL computers • Ability to clear DTCs (trouble codes) from all vehicle computers including infamous “Bonnet Light” • Ability to update reflash maps as improvements become available • Firmware is Internet updatable (new features may be added as they become available) If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us. GTC will shorly be testing a stage 2 102ron. Increase boost to 17.4 PSI, adjuste the fuel for the higher boost, intake cam timing, exhaust cam timing and the ignition timing. Looking for torque: +60 horse power: +40 We'll update this thread 18th Aug with official Cobbtuning dyno results, data etc.. In the mean time if anyone wishes to register their interest in the accessPORT for the JDM or US/Middle east R35 please let us know cheers Ben @gtc-r.com

i forgot to mention from Alf video, In the current beta firmware now, Cobb have cut the reflash times down to about 6-7mins and they have suppressed the fans from coming on ... the effect of this is that you don't need to attach any battery charging unit to the car to keep the battery from being drained anymore ... hence it's much more convenient now than in the original version of the firmware ...
we'll announce stage 2 results next week as part of Cobb's world release date, but i can say with both JDM and USDM GT-R's there was some very impressive gains all through the RPM range with stage 1 and stage 2. Now... the most exciting news of all is that Joe the brains behind the accessport programming has now included Transmission trouble code reading and reseting. This might come in very handy for the GT-Rs that have transmissions problems. (heard a couple of cars went into limp mode at silverstone) Also added trouble code reading and reseting for the AWD and more. I know a few people are actually struck for choice between the Mines and AccessPORT. There's no competiton...

![]() Please find attached the user manual, (this is included with your package also) and dyno graphs. ![]() All the maps are already included on your accessport, but they can also be down loaded here: cobb . R35 GT-R accessport . map listing ![]() ![]() ![]() As you can see from the dyno graphs, stage 1 will add 63 Wheel horse power. The stage 2 map will see 70 + wheel horse power ! Stock boost - 12 psi Stage 1 - 14.5 psi Stage 2 - 16.5 psi I can tell you personally the difference is noticable. It was clear to us all from all of the examples tested that Nissan had understated quoted power figures. Stock GT-R obseverations: 1- The Engine is running extremely rich on the top end, which is a direct safety implementation made by Nissan. 10.6-10.8 air fuel ratio. 2- The engine is boosting an average of 12.5 Psi. Peaking 14 2- Some US reports have suggested engine runs a lean on peak boost using 95ron fuel. Highly recommended to only use 97-98 ron. This is also recommended by Nissan in the user manual. We did not notice this in UK running 98 ron pump fuel. Stage 1 At this stage we were confident that any introductory remapping of the standard ECU would be greatly beneficial. From previous experience and knowledge of other model Sport Nissan's, the manufacture always consertively maps the OEM stock ecu for large marin of safety. We were very pleased to obtain the Cobb Tunning AccessPORT reflash unit for the new Nissan GT-R. Skilled ECU Mappers Joe and John @ Cobb have produced a number of maps that can be uploaded via the accessPORT for your standard GT-R ECU. The maps are a full re-map of your Boost, Fuel, Ignition & timing Maps to achieve a number of performance increases, notably; 1. Reliable & Safe increase in engine power output 2. Improved engine response 3. No reduction in off-boost performance for Urban Driving 5. Quick 10 min install & straight forward performance increase. 6. 100% Reversible to return car stock settings back to standard. With concentration on delivering an ECU Tune with balanced characteristics, and above all, 100% reliability and safety, the Cobb Tuning ecu reflash will provide the driver with a more fun, rewarding and improved performance drive from their new GT-R, with no reduction in driveability for normal road use. Stage 1 allows a huge amount of potential to be realsed from the VR38 DETT, an impressive 63WHP ! Cobb tuning Stage 1 map graph level of tune retains all standard exhaust system components including catalytic converter - 100% legal Spark Plugs. Stock Spark Plug has performed well, with no signs of deteriation or requirement for replacement with colder plug. Fuel Pump. The stock GT-R fuel pump performs well in the 500whp region without need to worry of danger of fuel supply limitations. Air Intake It is not recommended to modify the air intake. The ductwork and airflow was exhaustively researched by Nissan. TD emphasized that most air intakes are based on best fit & bling rather than real gains. What this means is you could replace the stock paper filter for something with greater airflow like K&N, but not a cone filter that replaces the box/ductwork i.e HKS etc.. The Cobb accessPORT is mapped for only the stock intake ! Engine The VR38DETT can take 650 HP conservatively and 700 HP with less of a safety margin with no modification needed to the bottom end. For most 700HP is more than enough for most ! although there are always some hardcore fans who will want 900HP + To acheieve anything over 650HP the stock turbo's will start to run out of puff, similar injectors and fuel system will need to be uprated. Gear Box No issues arrising with stage 1 map what so ever. Gear changes feel same speed and box able to cope with power increase. The TCM, specifically clutches are limited to approx ~ 600 HP which after this power increase on a 1750 weight car will wear out a clutch faster. The TCM will hold 90kgm max which is 650ft-lbs of torque. One aftermarket clutch manufacture we are talking with Across (carbonetic) is planning to have something in the works. When the Transmission gets too hot the GT-R goes into limp mode and will limit to 3000 rpms until the transmission has cooled down; this is a safety measure & can be monitored. We feel the need for an aftermarket TCM and Engine oil cooler when running an aftermarket exhaust with reflash ecu. A weak link on early vin GT-R is the oil pump to the gear box, which has been updated on 2008 model cars (for piece of mind don't buy a import 2007 model unless there is evidence of recall/upgrade). Another issue we feel needs to be addressed is a map for the transmission ecu to work in sync with a reflashed stage 2 + ecu when you are talking over 600bhp. Cobb are aware of this, no news at moment. Feed back from one of our customers in Singapore i've dynoed the car with Stage 1 and it shows 527HP/694NM torque. Very amazing. Have run some new 1/4miles and without launch control i got: 11.6s @ 123.8mph 0-60mph in 3.6s 0-100mph in 7.7s the car is awesomely fast now!! Feed back from one of our customers in UAE Hi Ben just uploaded 97 ron map on my car cuz im using the 98 octane the car is perfect cant wait for the exhuast and having stage 2 thnx alot for all the help saeed Further feed back Currently waiting on feedback from our tuner partners in Japan. Sunline and Autoselect have recieved their accessPORTS from us and will be testing shortly. Video excellent made video by Perrin, we'll get one done when Darryl gets back from travels YouTube - PERRIN Performance GTR AccessPort Coming soon Further tuning data and information on accessTUNER (mapping software)

Ben
Have to say this looks fantastic, verging on the "too good to be true", although I'm sure that's not the case. Am now now not only looking forward to my delivery, but also to the additional performance that the accessport promises. A few questions, and I appreciate that the UK version has not been started on yet. Thing that supprises me is not your HP graph but how grotty the original graph is. Or is that just a consequence of deliberate overfueling at higher revs? 1) Are their differences between the JDM & US original HP Graph and have you needed to use different parrameters for the JDM & US accessport? 2) So assuming in the UK using Super Unleaded 98 Ron, looks like a Stage 1 increase of + 63 HP. As we have 99 & 102 available do you know if a map for these is possible or is that Higher RON fuels do not enable more power without the Stage 2 part changes? 3) I have read about dealers knowing if the ECU has been reflashed, even if it is returned to factory. Can you confirm that this is the case or is it that you are able to hide the fact that the ECU has been reflashed? 4) Either way do you recommend that a car is returned to standard each time it is taken in for a service or is this unnecessary? Rich

1) Are their differences between the JDM & US original HP Graph and have you needed to use different parrameters for the JDM & US accessport?
yes of course differences, all GT-R is different, more so country to country, fuel/sea level etc..etc.. 2) So assuming in the UK using Super Unleaded 98 Ron, looks like a Stage 1 increase of + 63 HP. As we have 99 & 102 available do you know if a map for these is possible or is that Higher RON fuels do not enable more power without the Stage 2 part changes? 102 is available, as is 97 ron and 100 ron with more to follow. more importantly accesstuner software. 3) I have read about dealers knowing if the ECU has been reflashed, even if it is returned to factory. Can you confirm that this is the case or is it that you are able to hide the fact that the ECU has been reflashed? well one chap in the US says his car has the accessport, he send it for service and the Nissan dealer did not pick it up. Thats said these cars are like big brother... sooo. To be honest these products and other tuning parts are for those who simply do not worry about warranty and not for those who want to hide the facts 4) Either way do you recommend that a car is returned to standard each time it is taken in for a service or is this unnecessary?
