My 176whp B18'd EK9
Hi,
I've decided I fancy a change of car so my EK9 is up for sale. I've loved every minute of owning it and have spent a lot on it in the time i've had it. I don't tend to keep my cars long and in the time that I do have them I end up spending a lot of money on them making them better. Last year I had 4 different cars and I can see this year being very similar ![]() I swapped the car back in December for my Mazda RX7, the EK9 was pretty standard when I got it with the following spec: 98 spec EK9 with manual windows, grey carpet etc 37k miles Unknown brand coilovers with pillowball top mounts Apexi N1 exhaust De-Cat AEM short ram induction kit Toad Ai606 cat 1 alarm ![]() I've since spent quite a bit of money and time on the car transforming it into what it is today and i'm really happy with the result. The current spec of the car is: Chassis: Dayama coilovers 16" Volk TE-37'S (there's a set of 5) Yokohama Parada spec2's in 205-45-16 (loads of life left) 2 brand new 205-45-16 cut slicks Rays lug nuts in blue with matching locking nuts and key Brakes: Standard calipers front and rear painted gold EBC drilled and grooved front discs Yellowstuff front pads Standard rears Engine (10000 miles since build roughly): B18C4 Motor B18C5 crank Eagle Rods JE 12.5:1 pistons ACL race bearings B18C5 oil pump Baffled Sump B18C5 Valves Buddyclub Valve springs Skunk2 Retainers Buddyclub spec IV cams Buddyclub cam gears Skunk2 Inlet manifold J's racing carbon fiber intake (whales *****) Magnecore 8.5mm leads Carbon kevlar plug cover RC310cc injectors B18C5 fuel rail B&M FPR B&M Pressure gauge Mugen 4-1 manifold with 2.5" collector Full titanium INVO catback with 2.5" bore De-cat 2.5" Transmission: S80 box with LSD 4.7 final drive Fidanza flywheel Helix uprated cluch Interior: Manual windows Red carpet Red Recaro's Momo corse steering wheel about 290 or 300mm Momo gearknob Unknown short shifter (really short shifts) Other Bits: Apexi RSM with G sensor Hondata S300 MASE tuned Toad Ai606 Earthing kit Wind deflectors Pioneer CD head unit Infinity speakers front and rear Genuine red honda mats in the back There's probably some other bits i've forgotten to mention. Its a bit of an animal! The engine made 176whp running a mase map in the last car it was fitted to which I bought just for the engine setup. Fitting the new engine and box completely transformed the car. With the B16B fitted you had to really rag the car to get the most out of it but now the power is there whenever you want it. The cams are awesome and sound crazy on idle! Video of EK9 IDLE - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Now to the bad points of the car. Its registered as a Cat C due to a front end bump the car sustained long before I got it. Ive had the front end apart to make sure its all been repaired to a decent standard and i'm more than happy with it. I had the front bumper smoothed and sprayed due to it being full of stone chips and also had the side skirts sprayed at the same time to smarten them up. The car has some dents on the roof which i was planning on getting dent master to sort aswell as a dent on the passenger rear arch. The car has also had paint in the past (probably when the accident damage was being repaired). There is a small patch above the passenger window where the paint has been buffed through very thinly which has made the primer visible. All the bad bits with the car are purely cosmetic which was my next course of action. Now for the pics: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Please note the car will come with a standard red rocker cover not the carbon fiber one shown. ![]() The Type R stickers are no longer on the car as they weren't to my taste but can be replaced if a buyer wants If you'd like any other info / pictures just email me and i'll get the info to you. I'm only selling because I fancy a change and i'm open to swaps / px's with anything interesting with cash either way (skyline, rx7, evo, s3, civic, crx etc) I'm after £6500 ono, the car has 10 or 11 months mot and 5 months tax remaining and is currently sitting on circa 40k miles. I can be contacted on 07879428288 or email me at D2TEX@BTINTERNET.COM Thanks for looking Nick |

I gave the car a clean this afternoon and took some fresh pics. I was going to clean the inside and take some pics of that but the rain just wouldn't stop so i'm saving that for one evening this week.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The rest of the pics are HERE As you can see the car currently has a Kakimoto N1 spec exhaust fitted. This is available instead of the Invo system but I will warn people it is LOUD! I've tried to take pictures of the dents in the roof and on the rear 1/4 which I think have turned out ok. I used the flash to show up the dents on the roof more than they do in normal light. If anyone would like any other pictures of any specific part of the car just ask and i'll get some sorted. Thanks Nick |
