they have a habit of the hand-brake dragging - if you lightly apply the handbrake at low speeds does the noise stop?
If so, try backing the handbrake adjustment off and see if it helps.

Have you just put new discs on?
If you have then it could be the runout in the hub causing the disc to be misaligned which is touching the pad at a regular interval every rotation. The noise will eventually go as the pad is worn away retrueing the two braking surfaces (or bedding in as the trade call it). If you want to sort it sooner rather than later then you can either get the discs skimmed (check out Skim My Discs if your interested) or take the assembly apart and clean all corrosion and built up crap off. If you haven't put new discs on then the old discs could be suffering from disc thickness variation where the pad has irregulary worn the disc causing little peaks and crevices. When driving along the pad is catching a peak creating the noise. You'll know it's this if you can feel some pedal pulsation when braking at higher speed. Again if you can (and min thickness allows) get them skimmed or you may need to replace them. Good luck |
