I was lucky enough 15 or so years ago to go out in one of these. It was owned by a mates brother in law who swapped a 2 year old Testarossa for it. One night we popped over one night for a spin, I was squeezed in the rear side ways with my feet on the opposite seat. I was very impressed at the time, it was the fastest thing I had been in up until then. The best thing was the noise!!! Time has not blunt that asset of the Audi 5cyl.
I guess it would be pretty tame these days, but I do remember being up the ass of a Cosworth who was being held up be a slower car on a long straight road. As soon as there was a gap to over take in, the Ford was off like a shot, but I was stunned by the fact we managed to go around both cars before the Cossy could get past the car holding him up!!
The guys brother was collecting GrpB car and had a 6R4, his own Audi S1 and a Peugeot
