I'm not entirely convinced whether that sounds great or not to honest. Being that is sounds uber-loud on a vid suggests it must be ear bleeding in real life. You know when you hear a ferrari with a flat plane crank engine through a particularly straight through exhaust? Sometimes you can't actually decide whether it's offensively loud music or just offensive...
Either way, that makes a statement. Have sent to father to see whether it tickles him enough to buy one and sell me his 34 I might get slated for this but an awesome sounding engine NEVER sounds right though an 'auto'. Yes, it's the finest DSG type system out there but pure gutteral symphony doesn't seem to sound quite right when mixed with that box. At full pelt it might be different but most of that trundling around didn't do it for me...

Hmm, undecided...
I like 'harsh' but I think that might overstep the mark... The harshest I heard and thought was fun was when the HKS exhaust sheared off the R34 on the way to work. As it's a decat with HKS downpipes etc it was pretty much an open big old pipe from turbo to the point where it bounced around open against the carbon undertray. Made an awesome noise though.. http://www.pointless-engineering.com...itznospec2.avi

Keeping the stock muffler, and just changing the centre Y pipe to a complete straight design... IMHO gives the car a very nice meatier rumble. There's also a nice higher pitch "bark" when you rev the engine. It's still surprisingly civil in the cabin so the missus didn't even notice it HEHE
Having just heard a sweet NA V8 from a 430 yesterday, it's nowhere close But it's a start. |

my wife hasn't noticed and neither have my neighbours. that was a crucial requirement if i was upgrading the exhaust as i leave for work early and don't want to disturb anyone. i do miss the overrun burbling i used to get in my ferraris and lotus though.
i also think for me it's important not to be associated with so called ricers. unfortunately as soon as my wife sees anything japanese that's been overly modified that's the first thing she says. i bought this car to be comparative to a porsche turbo or ferrari 612. mildly over stated but not bling and not outrageous. i could never own that car in the vid, people i at the golf club would kick me out.

i had a capristo level 2... stunning exhaust with beautiful sound. the tubi has a beautiful sound too. i think the ricer comments come from trying to turn something into something it's got no chance of ever being. so making a stunning car like a GT-R trying to sound like a Ferrari, lambo or even a porsche just smacks of desperation.
