Cancelling Sky TV
Has anyone ever tried this? It's impossible! I've tried twice and been fogged off twice.
Attempt 1 - Endless transfer to another department. Attempt 2 - The call back that never happened. F*ck them. If they continue supplying sky I hope they don't expect payment. I have made a record of both attempts and cancelled the direct debit, so we'll see how a court feels about your obstruction tactics when you come looking for your money you worthless f*cking arseholes. |

I would put it in writing and send it by recorded delivery. That way they cant deny not receiving notification. If the still dont respond then write again and warn them that you will stop the direct debit. This way, if they try and take you down the court route you will have all the evidence that you tried to cancel.
Good luck |

I'm not taking out a lawsuit.
I've simply stopped paying them. The lawsuit will be on their behalf if they propose to get 'their' money. Technically I legitimately owe them for a 30-day notice period but because they've been so damn obstructive I have been unable to pay them this final amount and cancel. Instead they propose to continue billing me and supplying sky, with a £4/month administration fee for not paying by direct debit. |

Follow Gez's advice as it will serve you well should it go further.
btw, unless you told them you were recording the call I believe you cannot use it in your favour. Bummer. What has happened to customer service in this country??? ![]() |

howsie is right if you dont tell them that the call is being recorded its worthless
gez is also right you need to write to the bas***ds it will give you more grounds to stand on in your letter tell them you want compensation send them your bill and tell them you want more on top for the inconvinience that has been caused to you ringing them writing etc etc all major companies have some sort of system in place where they give you compensation if you ask them |

One problem. I can record a delivery, but I can't record what the delivery is, i.e. what it actually says on the letter. See my problem? I've tried finding an e-mail address - what a surprise - none. I logged a complaint with WatchDog though. Frankly, I think you should be able to bomb companies who ruin your Sunday. Does that sound harsh?

Anyone got an e-mail for the turkeys? I've counted the cost of the calls - £8. Multiply that by X million customers and it's clear they make tens of millions of pounds in the UK alone just by being obstructive and wasting people's time. Last edited by R33_GTS-t; 17th August 2008 at 03:55 PM. |

i could do with that email too. we signed up for sky, paid the 125 quid too bt, and when they came too install, they couldn't get a signal. ok, not a prob, i'll just get sky too reimburse the 125 quid, as promised, and stay with cable. this was 5 months ago. i've lost count of the phone calls made, and letters written, get a note of times and dates of all of these. so, this evening, i've got too waste my time, writing a snotty letter too them, again, but this time, as well as sending it too their pathetic excuse of a customer services department, i'll send it direct too head office aswell, once i track down, who the director is? had too resort too this twice in the last 5 years, once with lloyds tsb, and once with vodafone, and both times, it got very good results. think if you mention consumer rights, trading standards, and watchdog, most, finally take note. always helps too quote dates and times of phone calls and letters, normallly helps with getting some compensation. why it has too resort too this though, is a joke, are they just hoping we forget about it/give up chasing the money we are owed??? |

neil thats exactly what they want
would you not want the if you owned the company? there getting money for not doing anything, but having you on hold its a scam! its exactly what they want you should also tell them you want a response in writing rather than via phone you have every right to do this |
