Hastings Black GTR

As I pulled into my parking space you pulled up in a Red Metro to talk to me.

I have forgotten your name, sorry, but you have the R32 GTR, black, full stage 3 spec by the sound of it.

Sorry I was a bit odd, I'd just heard that I might need 2 x new turbos and it was still sinking in.

Wanted to ask what turbos you have and what would you recommend.

Thanks for your kind words and it was good to speak to another Hastings GTR owner.

Nick

He defo mentioned a big rear wing plus just about every other serious performance part. I thought he was going to club me, I pulled out in front of him (safe distance) like a maniac, he did comment on how healthy the 'smoke' was. Bloody sound bloke as it goes.
Thanks for the reply Neil

Mine's the bog standard looking gun metal R32 GTR, debadged apart from 'GTR'. On closer inspection it's a bit tatty but the engine's sound (apart from ANOTHER oil leak).

Hi Nick,

Yes Neil is right it's me, like i said the other day, smoke looked quite black so maybe it's just running rich, better than lean, maybe worth getting someone else to have a look for you.
I'm running Garrett 2860's 5's the bigger one's my nephew nick is running 2860's 10's the slightly smaller ones, your quite welcome to drop round and come out in both to compare, Nicks spool up slightly quicker but drop off earlier.
Both good turbos and good price, to decide what turbos you want i think you need to decide what power you eventually want, or are preppared to spend, as once you go over 500 brake your need to think about upgrading the internals.
You can make about 470 brake if you have your turbos rebuilt, which will give you better bearings do away with the ceramic coating allowing you to run more boost.
The biggest downfall for me was thinking that a 470 brake skyline (quite a heavy car) would satisfy me, so i would deffo go out in as many skylines before you decide.

Hope this helps.

Thanks

PJ

Cheers for the reply, I appresiate it.

When I've sorted all my other issues out (money) I'll be very intrested in the different performance the turbos give.

I kind of guessed that whatever power these beauties push out it's never going to be enough, how greedy are we.

I'll shout you soon and thanks agian for the advice and time.

Nick
