hi, car help?

i dont post on here alot but i wasn't to sure which forum to post this sort of question on

but basically turning 17 in november im trying to set up a savings account at the moment so that i can save up for a car.
yes so we all no that we would love a nice skyline for a first car but in all seriousness i was wandering if people could suggest some cars to me?

i was looking at some of the old jap stuff like the startlets and GT-Turbos, or even going french for a while and buying a saxo. im just not to sure on insurance etc.

I would definitely recommend a Japanese car over anything that has come from France...

At your age I would prolly rule out a Turbo engine really, Though you can get some quite fun small Jap cars that are N/A...

End of the day its entirely up to you, Look around and see what you fancy then ring round for a few quotes.

If it where me I would prolly go for a Classic small Jap hatchback like a 160Y or something similar. But thats me

P.S. Suzuki Swift GTI, Though a rotbox, Is great fun for a 1.3 and easy enough to work on.

At 17 you'll be paying more than £1000 per year for any thing over a 1.2 engine. I really wouldn't bother aiming for a really powerful car unless you're made of money. My suggestion would be a Fiat Punto 1.2 (75bhp version) or a Suzuki Swift GTi as said above.
