J Tuning shops with dedicated Gaijin client?

Any of us J GTROCCERS consider that we are a loyal customer to one J tuning shop within Japan? If not exclusively, then to a certain extent anyway?

If so, please add your name to the list, and the garage name, and you may... get contacted for a mag shoot. They are interested in both your car and the tuning of it, and the interrelationship of the specific shop and the 'foreign' customer who owns a tuned car and does trackdays in Japan. (Probably also wanting to get insights into why young people in Japan are losing interest in cars, and what motivates Non-Japanese people to tune and race their cars.)

Do I count as Gaijin, Piers? Probably not. And my situation is too schizo anyway, what with the Love/Hate relationship I have with Mine's... and my supposedly preferred shop at Nissan Shinagawa (then why do I have a Mine's engine...).

Have fun guys.

Perhaps Dave should chime in with his old R34 (now mine) as it is all Top Secret.
I wish I could really be more involved, but I had nothing to do with the build or
choosing what to have done to this car. Other people might be Gio with TS as
well and Nick with Mine's too. Let me know Piers if I qualify as just an owner with
a car built by TS but not involved with the build. Thanks.

Don't tell me the japanese tuning/car industry is so in trouble that they ask magazines to ask gaijins why they blow their wallets and the japanese don't . . . . . my answer would be clear that japan is in a resession and goes down in to the gutter. This time it's not a bubble that will burst and tells you when it's nearly gameover. . . it is allready game over . . lets soka gakai change for the LPD.

By the way guys all the best for the shootings, Piers you are a must for the shooting, seriously man, you will show the japanese tuning scene that there are not only young larves like us who play monkey with cars in japan.

Hmmm.... some food for thought in your replies here. They are probably wanting to feature J tuning shops, to give them free publicity, and a different angle for the readers, etc., but may have thought of a back entrance through the gaijin network.

Not sure, Aki, but I suspect they would want you and the shop to be comfortable with each other. And Paul and Dave are in flux now. It's not such a straightforward thing, is it!? Top Secret & Mines...

Dan, I don't know you personally, but can you send me a pm describing your situation with Bee Racing? Thanks.

Piers - I'll leave Nick to the Mine's thing then. As for me - I am proud to say that I'm a very satisfied customer of the Motorsports Divison of Nissan Shinagawa - not sure if that counts as a "tuner" but these guys REALLY know their stuff, all things GT-R, I have NEVER been steered wrong by them, and their level of professionalism is second to none - but if tuner = handcrafted engines, or parts made by/for them or re-labelled for them, then they are not "tuners" I guess. Oh well.

Sounds good to me, Aki. I'll pass your info along.

Just leaving for a long weekend on a southern isle, so don't expect a reply for a day or three. No rush on this anyway, but thanks for the feedback so far. Piers

Hmmm.... Too bad I'm not in Japan any more. But when I was there, I got my tuning done at FNATZ.
