Penalties in GT5 Prologue
What a raving pile of sh1te!
I agree that the earlier games could have been improved by removing the ability to use walls and other cars to perform emergency stops from 200mph in half a second but GT5 Prologue has taken it too far. Sometimes a ramming penalty is awarding when you simply seize somone's racing line and they swing into you. Then there are occasions when another car spins across a chicane and hits you, sending you wide onto the grass. Not only do you lose time due to some AI arsehole putting you there but you also get a Short Cutting Penalty! ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Indeed....
I hope the full game has this sorted or its going to be a disappointment. I'm a great fan of the GT series and it was the whole reason I bought a PS2. I am waiting till GT% full game is released and then I'm off to buy a PS3/GT5 bundle. All I'll say is it had better be good.... TT |

I'm starting to think that Sony have a personal grudge against me when I'm racing on-line. All the "chavs" in their tuned Clios seem to get away with murder - ramming, short-cutting the suzuka chicane, etc. - without appearing to get penalised but if I "breathe" on anybody or get half a wheel over a kerb I'm ground to a halt for 5 seconds
![]() ![]() ![]() There are far too many tw@ts on there who use the rear of my car to do their braking or who lurk off the racing line ready to barge you into the armco/gravel as soon as you pass them. It is REALLY p1ssing me off and totally spoils the enjoyment of online racing. ![]() |

The problem is that the AI isn't smart enough to try and avoid you and isn't affected by penalties. I've also found that you're more likely to get a penalty if you're doing well and for about 5 seconds after a penalty, you can do as you please.
