Midges, mud, freezing cold, rain, shiting by torchlight, sopping wet, crap food, no open fires.

Me neither. My missus persuaded me to take her camping to the New Forest last year and the only thing I enjoyed was driving across the open moor areas with the twisty roads. Then again, I was driving my Rover 400 at the time so even that wasn't particularly great!

Count me out, that would just suck. How do you expect to cook what you caught, shot or just bought? I need a bonfire or at least some sort of hibachi grill to cook my steaks. I can tough out all the rest though.

Camping . . the best part is the camping shower place. 12768peeps take a shower there in 1 houre and the reason the shower ground feels so soft , is because it is covered , with mud, genital hairs, children poo and spiders . . . .

I am completely anti-camping, even if I like visiting friends there during the day , I allways pray I not need to take a shit somewhere then . . . . . I even hate caravans, the only caravan I would like is one of thoses movie star mobile flats . . lol

I'm fully agreed that camping should be in the rant forum as it's a desparate thing to do. Despite this we do go away every year on the Aug bank holiday but that is purely because of the company. I always maintain the best bit about camping is when I close the boot lid after packing on the bank holiday monday, safe in the knowledge that I will be back indoors soon
My general philosphy is that the Roman's invented central heating for us, we've got cavity walls, satellite TV, internet, double beds and all that good stuff. We pay council tax, water rates and gas/leccy so why on EARTH do we see fit to leave it behind and live in a sodding field for the weekend??
I have a threshold of 3 nights...no more
As Andy says, the only way to cope is to drink (the entire time). I would never normally accept a can of strongbow at 10am but I make an exception for camping..the sober reality of being sat in a field isn't good
A couple of years ago it decided to p*ss down the whole weekend so myself and mate just sat in the porch of his tent, each with a case of beer next to us and generally slagged everything off and put the world to rights.
This earned Mick's tent the title of 'camp grumpy' which Tash followed up by getting T-shirts made up for Mick and I with a list on the front of all the things we hate about camping. Infact, there is a photo from this last camping trip of me looking suitably impressed with the whole camping thing..as you can see it says 'would you like to moan with me?' and then lists all the things we hate about camping...
I think the photo below that from this year also sums up a British camping experience. That said, GTROC fleeces and jackets prove themself to be invaluable for camping trips
But, worst thing about it, I agree...the showers/bogs. I absolutely hate trotting off in the morning to go and mingle in everyone elses pubes but then you get these cheery f*ckers in the next cubicle singing away to themselves???

Good rant
