Hyper LED's question
Hi all
Still unsure about how these LED's look on the GTR, Just wondering has anyone got a good picture from the front with the LED's on? Thanks James.

The Road Traffic Act 1989 makes no statement about "position" of lamps, be it fog or otherwise.
The Act defines... Front fog lamp A lamp used to improve the illumination of the road in front of a motor vehicle in conditions of seriously reduced visibility. Running lamp A lamp (not being a front position lamp, an end-outline marker lamp, headlamp or front fog lamp) used to make the presence of a moving motor vehicle readily visible from the front. I personally would have little problem in defending any action brought by an overzealous copper on the grounds that these LED lights are anything other than running lamps due to their clearly inadequate ability to improve illumination in front of the vehicle! |

My bad...
"Front fog lamps should be fitted low on the front of the motor vehicle, normally below the height of the headlamps, but not more than 1,200 mm from the ground" Still, the low level of brightness from these LEDs would have me believe they'd be seen as running lights rather than fogs. |

As most UK police are vexatious job worths who now have performance targets for nicking motorists and on the whole hate people who driver anything faster than a micra especially flash sports cars you are opening yourself up for a tug imo by using them. Dont forget this is the same police force that was perverting some ancient telegraph law to nick people for using speed detectors (until someone overturned it in the courts). Im not saying dont get them, thats a personal thing, just in my experience in the UK as it is you could be opening yourself up for a ticket. |

totally see your point Eric and agree entirely. Surely if the power hungry, ticket writing copper gets too nasty you could always switch your actual fog lamps on in the headlights whilst showing him the drivers manual ie..fog light locations and switches..that should silence the little rascal.
