'Tower' LEDS for instrument cluster-- any good?

I was thinking of changing my dash board lights to some better LED ones... have looked on the forum and it seems that very wide angle LEDs are the ones to go for, not necessarily all out brightness. Has anyone tried this type of LED cos it seems ideal..

Dead easy mate when you're as skilled as I am !!

Buy some, and I'll fit em at a meet for you in about 20 minutes with nothing more than a screwdriver and some electrickery.

Ask Chaz how quick I can get a dash out, but don't mention coax wiring

On a 33 you need 5 for the main cluster and 3 smaller ones for the centre set. Not sure if they fit 32 and I done a 32 dash, but it can't be that difficult.

Just ask the dude in Oz, he's helpful and posts em quick.

Is it like he says, that its just a bulb change? or do you have to wire in resistors etc? I always end up getting a shock at some point LOL

It is as easy as Dean says, i just got the tower LEDs today and fitted them, they are fantastic, very bright (can notice the illumination in daylight) and perfectly illuminate all areas of the dash clocks. No messing around with resistors or anything just a direct swap. Now that Dean showed me how to get the dash out did the whole job in 20 mins.

The tower LEDs were approx £20 for 5. Ill post a pic up later when its darker so you can see the full effect. Gonna have to do the torque/boost/oil temp ones now too!
