quick question
i need a new ignitor chip (ignition amplifier) for my '89 gtr. does anyone know of a website that sells used or refurbished ignitors? better yet does anyone on here have one they'd be willing to part with? i live in northern japan on a military base and it's harder than you'd think to source parts for this car, at least affordable oem parts. also will any other ignitors work on this car? ie, rb25, vg30, etc... i'm in a hurry to get it fixed because i've got family coming to visit from the states soon and it's my only transportation. thanks for any help.

Best to get the loom conector cut from a crashed car and then just copy the 300zx wiring diagram. |

Woowww.....this sound new to me. I'm Hilton and just join yesterday. Really appreciate your opinion guys/girls cause i'm new to this site about GTR. Just bought my GTR R34 V Spec. Just need the opinion from the seniors than me. What sort of modification for after market performance parts can i do without remaping the system due to lack/none dyno tune centre in my state. Does changing the cam shaft, pulley, fuel rail, injectors head, surge tank, spark plugs, fuel pump, crank damper pulley, installation of Apexi power FC,upgrade turbocharges, intake piping and intake system, ignition wire,ECU's and etc need to remaping the system again?

i found an ignitor off a crashed 300ZX and i've cut the wires so i've got the vg30 wires and connectors for it also. it looks like they should be a wire for wire swap so i should be able to just splice it into the rb26 harness, IE. 123456 on input side and 123456E on the output side just like the rb26. can anyone confirm this? i'm about to just go try it and see if it works but if someone knows how to do it, it would be very helpful. thanks everyone

i've done some searching and found out that the ignitor, part number 22020-58s01, was never fitted onto a vg30 and is actually for an A31 Cefiro with an rb20. i pulled it off of a vg30 though, strange. ok, so this should work without any re-wiring necessary correct? it looks almost identical to the gtr's stock igniter, the only difference is the heat sink is horizontal instead of vertical. if there is any problem with hooking this up wire for wire with the stock harness PLEASE let me know asap.

just a quick FYI for anyone who cares to know. ignitor chip P/N 22020-58s01 is a direct, wire for wire, alternative to the OEM ignitor, P/N 22020-05u00, on an r32 GTR. i pulled this ignitor off a VG30de but FAST doesn't have any listings of it ever being on that engine. it was in the a31 on an RB20det. time will tell how durable it is on an rb26, but from first start up it works perfectly.
