Thumbs up GTR35(stock) V Takata Time Attack Impreza

The Camera is in the stripped out Subaru and the GTR is in front. It shows the shear pace of the GTR round a track once the Subaru catches him..The thing is an amazing tool.

They're booking around that track. A factory stock R35 right onto the racetrack competing with a dedicated track-prepped Subie.

The Takata Impreza you'd think would have eaten the GT-R for lunch, but it didn't. Imagine the Spec V GT-R. That will probably be untouchable as a dedicated track-spec machine.

i think the STi should be faster....

but the GTR said he did a 1:37 i believe... which is very fast for a average driver at that track....

might have been a different story after 5-10 laps. the brakes and tyres on the gt-r would definitely have given up by then. ceramics and decent R's on the spec-v should do the trick.

good points

Try some Endless brakes and some R compounds on the R35 and it may hold up for those laps.

The specs on the suby are STOCK block, gt3076r, 20psi on race gas.
P&L are trying to get the stocker to last this season, the car is in the modified street class in the redline time attack series. More info here,

Thumbs up

Great clip Good quality compared to most. Subaru sounded great I still miss mine. The GTR will heal the pain though. I might get a 07/08 Sti Spec C when I get rid of the GTR is a couple of years.

Well the racing driver at the open evening said that they drive it hour after hour flat out and the brakes NEVER fade. He admitted that you need to re-pad them but give up - no way.

We all did close to 10 laps at Silverstone and not once did the brakes have any signs of fading in my GTR.

I was very impressed indeed. That was with some serious work being done too. Granted we were the first out in the afternoon so it would be interesting to hear from any of the guys there on the 24th August and who raced the GTR later on.....

I drove the circuit as our last activity, so each car would have had 30 laps of guest use plus 9-12 laps of Instructors racing - I suffered no fade at all on my session and that really surprised me.

One point to note - the Silverstone cars were using Pagid 29 pads and not OEM due to "availability" issues. Not sure whether the OEM pad works as well??
