It could be, but I've never seen one dressed up like that. You're sure it's not the 430 SC engine?

it's a Lexus IS, just trying to figure out if its the 2.0l straight six, or the 3 liter six. 2JZ obviously....has potential

It's the 1G-FE straight6 2liter 170HP, my mate had one and added the TTE supercharger, gave him around 210HP, which was fun to drive. Basicly it's one of the best luxury engines with gearbox in the world, also the supercharger added (210HP is still not earth shaking) was sublime driving pleasure as the engine, gearbox and supercharger felt like running on double cream (much more nicer then an RX8)

But for big power gains it has to be a JZ series.

Still I was wondering why nobody swapped or tuned Lexus-Toyota V8s over the years, here in japan , many of the Toyota V8s are used on yacht boats and a single block produces around 1000HP supercharged

I hope you are talking about the Manual gearbox... I got an IS200 Auto for a while and while the gearbox is smooth, it have the LONGEST 2nd gear I have ever seen... the pick up also isn't very nice either.

I am now in an Altezza RS200 Auto, which mean it comes with a 5 speed auto and that is much better, but I guess it still doesn't beat a manual when it comes to performance.

Looking at the engine, it looks like a 2litre 1G-FE if you ask me.

Forget the auto. the 6speed manual is really nice, worth trying and being surprised.
The RS200 auto is of course better, but the Yamaha engine needs a manual to be really best used in this car.
