JL Audio 500/5 Ampilifer

As above, top of the range car amp in excellent condition. I will even go as far to saying you will not find the same amp in better condition unless you buy one brand new!!!

5 Channel: 2 x 100W RMS(front), 2 x 25W RMS(rear) and 1 x 250W RMS(sub)

Was fitted in my brothers Civic for around 6 months as my Skyline has been off the road, the Civic has just been sold and I have no use for the amp in the Skyline as the interior is striped for the track.

For all the in's and out's look at the link:

JL Audio: Products

The amp is around 18-24 months old and was £900 back in those days

I have the original box if that is of any use LOL

Im looking for £425ono

Nice amp,

I had a pair in my old car. Discreet mounting fits the Skyline well. Pic of it mounted if it helps.

Good luck with the sale.

Nice.

Suprised you didnt go for a 500/1 or 1000/1 with the 300/4 running the componets.

Ive always wanted a W6 or W7 but the Skyline doesnt realy allow the subs to move properly into the cabin. Anyway the faster the better at the mo!

I can also recommend 'jl audio' had the full set up in a tdi golf l used to own (2 x 13.5 w7's, etc etc) the thing was awsome! sound quality did not fade even at high levels.

Do miss the sound, but can't hack it as I get older.

Hi P3rv3rt,

I actually had this setup;

Alpine Head unit/Changer
JL Audio 300/4
JL Audio 500/1
JL Audio W7 12"
Boston Acoustics Pro 5.5 Components front
Kicker RS6 6.5" components rear
Phoenix Gold 1 Farad Capacitor

Sounded great. I would have preferred a 2 way Boston speaker in the rear, I originally bought 6x9's but they wouldn't go in and nor would a 20cm speaker unfortunately for the rears.

My missus has the W3 12" and I ended up using that a fair bit as its much lighter and didn't sound all that different in the skyline. With hindsight I may have gone the 10" route!!

Cheers
Nito

here's how I did my subs:

I used a pair of Polk amps; JL is more audiophile but I figured with the noise my car makes I just needed clean raw power so I could merely hear the stereo over the exhaust!

My stereo is fairly simple:
Premier bluetooth head
MB Quart 6.5" component set up front (I forget the model but it's their midrange set), biamped
Polk Momo 400.4 to drive the fronts (100 watts per woofer and per tweeter)
Pioneer 10" shallow-mount subs
Polk Momo 300.2 to drive the subs (180 watts per sub)

No rear speakers - my first stereo install without rears, and I have to say I think it cleans up the imaging very well. I won't use rears unless I set up a time delay on them as well as a 7000hz low pass at a mild 6db crossover or so.

Yep nice set up, thats quite common for the JL Audio and if I had the money a couple of years ago thats what I would have gone for except Id use a W6 V3 12".
You could have gone for the 1000/1 with the W7!

Im not keen on the Boston components and Ive yet to hear the Kickers. I bought a set of Focal Polykevlars when I 1st got into the audio, they where amazing aswell as expensive LOL

I recommend the Eclipse head units and Hertz components to anyone who wants value for money with great sound and volume. Ill be fitting them into the Skyline shortly from my bro's Civic.

So another bumper for this fine Amp.
