It's either he hits the rev-limiter or changes up with that extremely awkward gearbox and then changes down again immediately afterwards.

Most of the corners where he's on the limiter are tight sections with consecutive corners. If he were to try and change gears, the moment he completed the shift from 3rd to 4th, he would immediately have to shift back down to 3rd for the next corner. Alternatively, if he were to lift off the throttle he would lose momentum and risk upsetting the rear end of the car. It's faster to just stay on the limiter, keep the car in 3rd through the whole section and keep both hands on the wheel to steer. This guy knows exactly what he's doing.

That's OK . . .some people crash GTRs on the RING . .OK I will get my coat ..

By the way nobody has the top lap times of the 24H Nuerburgring from thoses leading Vipers, would be cool to compare them to the production car Viper.

Zakspeed GTS-R - 2nd overall in '07 - best lap was circa 8'41 during the 24hr race. Schumacher's GP lap is around 1'29 IIRC, so the difference is not that great.
