How does V-Pro work (piggyback)?

Any clever preople know how v-pro works in piggyback mode?

I'm guessing it takes the readings from the various sensors, modifys them and sends them to the standard ECU?

Does the standard ECU then control ignition and fueling etc., or does this go back through the v-pro?

Can't get my head around it.

I didn't think the Vpro was a piggyback. When you say piggy back mode i think it does that just to maintain the stuff the car needs like tach signal and gage cluster inputs. everything else is bypassed thru the vpro and is tuned via a laptop with a HKS trained Pro tuner.

That appears to be the case indeed; maybe piggyback is the wrong description, but it's wired in with the standard ECU.

The Vpro has complete control over the engine (fuel, ignition, etc). The stock ecu is still there, but only to control things such as AC, traction control etc. The stock ecu has no control over the motor.

The Vpro is a amazing. If I could just emulate the dongle I will be much happier

I have seen a post somewhere by one of the tuners and apparently it can be used as a piggyback or a stand alone ecu.
