Engine light flickering

Having a slight problem with the GTR at the moment.Started last night just cruising in 5th at about 4500rpm and the engine check light flickered for a second. As soon as I saw it I let off the loud pedal. Then driving along today going away from the lights it does it again.Have checked oil levels etc and all are spot on.
Any ideas as to what may be causing this.I have only had the car a couple of weeks and dont want anything major to go wrong yet,so to be safe she is being parked up till I find out more.
Cheers.

Lots of things can make the engine light flicker. Most common and detrimental is knock. Try a fresh tank of fuel and maybe some octane booster. Until it's sorted, don't apply too much load to the engine.

i too suspect fuel. i filled up my car ran full boost in 4th & 5th gear and got knock around 26. left the car for about a week, went out did the same again, and got reading of 36, with a spike of 45. ran fuel low, re-filled tank next day, knock back to mid 20`s!

Only if its running a powerFC will it flash the enigne light for knock. Best thing you can do is get it looked at by someone who knows skylines.

Then you will be better informed about the problem with your car.
