Nismo bush life

How long should upper suspension arm bushes last? My last set has only lasted 2 years and all of 10-15k max. At £160 a set and 3 hours fitting it is a bit expensive to have to do so often! The bushes seem to squash themselves so that there is side to side play. As soon as you replace them then it goes back to normal and the play is gone suggesting there isn't anything wrong with the rest of the suspension. These bushes when worn affect the steering and the whole steering experience seems very odd with extra tramlining and wobbliness while they are worn. They were ok in March of this year but by September (last service) they had gone from ok to buggered.

Anyone else had the same issue and found out why? Are there alternative bush kits that are longer lasting? Is it actually a sign of something else being wrong?
