GT-R Price Increase!

According to PistonHeads the price of the GT-R is about to shoot up in the US. Can any of the UK dealers confirm whether or not it's likely to affect the numerous pre-order customers on here? It's about a £4k increase in the US

It says in the article that it will not effect buyers who placed orders before Sep 5th. Pre orders will not go up in price in the UK I suspect. However with the exchange rate Nissan must be selling at a loss or close to it at the moment.

There is no increase in price for the UK GT-R at this point, but most of the other cars in the range have gone up (including the 350Z by £400!)

For the people that get their cars is 2010 ,I would check all documents and get it confirmed that you are buying the car for the stated price when your deposit went in .If nothing is printed that says your price is held then indeed it can go up and the customer will have to pay .

NMGB will price protect all the pre orders, so as long as you have ordered before any price increase, you will pay the vehicle price at point of order. Obviously (as discussed before) this doesn't include changes in VAT or Road fund license.

I had kind of assumed that it meant US customers were protected if they placed their orders before the 5th.

I knew the King of the Daleks would know the answer Thanks Davros!

So, if the cars do go up in price some of us could have even more of a bargain on our hands

Even if it doesn't happen in the UK its nice to know the GTR is appreciating before we even get our hands on it. They do get it really cheap though so its fair enough.

Will this affect Euro cars is the question.
This might just be Nissan trying to chip in on the dealer markups. I hope that the prices doesn't go up but the dealer markups go down instead so that the prices stay the same. If that's the case, the prices in Europe will stay the same as we don't have dealer markups here

In don't think price increases has been announced on any other market. It should have been announced in Japan and other countries the GTR has been released in if it was a world wide price increase.

Just some wishfull thinking from my part.
