Jonny,
Sorry about the delay having probs uploading so will describe it as best as I can. Take off the trim along the side of the sunroof by removing the plastic screw rivet to the rear and lifting out the front. You will see a black flat metal plate around 350mm long with three fixings on it - two to the front and one to the rear. Loosen these fixings but do not remove the nuts as there is no need. You will see that the sunroof will raise slightly away from the mechanism, enough to slide something in. Cut a piece of flat metal plate to fit between the mid and rear fittings. I used a piece around 12mm x 4mm from a large DIY store Slide this in place being careful not to push it too far and tighten the fixings. Be careful not to tighten the front too much as it will warp the mechanism ( trust me I know) Test the sunroof, replace the trim and away you go ! Sorry about the delay me and computers do not get on |

my stagea that I have just got....... love it, bl***y excellent..... had the rear sunroof not rising enough. There was a gap at the back in one corner that you could actually see daylight through from the inside. It seems like the arm that comes up to lift the glass into position has wear in it. It looks like it is just some sort of plastic, maybe not but the holes in it have got bigger allowing a bit of play and so it doesn't lift high enough. I followed your advice but installed thicker spacer around the rear bolt. It is just enough to close the gap in the seal. If I feel it isn't working then it would be fairly simple to remove the whole glass and space it properly so it can be got just right. Hopefully what I have done will suffice.
Thanks for the tip, the car doesnt look or smell like any water has got in and I want to keep it that way!!! |
