Bloody Ryanair

Received an email today from those nice folks at Ryanair telling me that the 4 flights I had booked with them have had to be cancelled!!!!!
As I was due to fly up to Scotland and collect my 2 sprogs and bring them down here for a visit this has now meant I have had to can the whole idea.
I AM NOT BEST PLEASED.

Being an air traffic controller I am inclined to have a few of them spinning around in the hold for an extra 1/2 hour but unfortunately I'm to professional for that...bugger!!.

Still, Ryanair have the cheek to blame Boeing for the cancellations . Now this is a new service starting from Bournemouth to Edinburgh on the 20-oddth of Sept but you would like to think they would have the aircraft allocated NOW and not be relying on new A/C coming from Boeing FFS . I see that they have now cunningly changed the rollout date of the new service to 5 NOV..

Now, as a punter I hate Ryanair although its worth putting up with them as, anyone who lives near southampton knows, Flybe are the biggest bunch of thieves around going by their fares out of Southampton.... Seems I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place

Ryanair are the absolute worst airline I've flown with and the worst company I've ever had to deal with.

I refuse to use them anymore even if they are cheaper, I hope they go bust

Missed a RyanAir flight to Cologne while sitting at the wrong gate because the gate had changed as we were were walking to it and the tannoy at that particular gate wasn't working. Realised at the last minute and ran to the correct gate but we weren't allowed to get on the plane, and then it sat there for a further twenty minutes.... Even after all that I thought, oh well partly my fault and airport rules but then..

Original cost of the two flights about 260 quid - lost that altogether, and had to buy new tickets for next flight at over 600 quid and they hit me for excess baggage another 40 quid on top...

That was taking the p**s as far as I was concerned...

Vowed never to use them ever again....

A few months ago i remember talking about how RA were increasing the risk of having a major accident by inceasingly reducing the turn around time in bewtween flights. Since then there has been 2 emergency landings.
Thats why i will never fly with Ryanair, far too dodgy for my liking.

Meh,i spend too much time on car forums. If i signed up to any others i'd never get anything done
Another near miss from RA this morning, sudden loss of cabin pressure or something. Only a matter of time before something disatrous happens IMO.

Tailstrike (take off angle was too strong and back of plane scraped the runway).

Like most Ive a love/hate relationship with ryanair, if you use it purely as a transport service and not for overpriced food etc its bareable. Flew easyjet recently and was impressed

All small airlines have been hit hard by the latest BS legislation that they simply can't afford to accommodate. They have to pay for the added airport security, the same as BA, only it's easier for bigger airlines to afford it. It also seems odd to blame RA when Boeing are the ones who didn't deliver the planes. If they were to allocate existing aircraft to the new flights, then someone else would have to miss out.

Be that as it may, it seems odd that for a service that was supposedly to start in less than 15 days they did not already have the aircraft allocated. To be relying on Boeing to deliver A/C at 'the last minute' is a bit remiss IMHO.

Also, OF COURSE I can blame Ryaniar as it was with them I had my flights booked NOT Boeing. TBH, I expect nothing less than crap service from Ryanair and by that I mean the 'Ryanair Machine' as a whole NOT the individual aircrew/flight attendants etc as I think they do a pretty good job given the circumstances. In my job I find the Ryanair pilots display the same professionalism as pilots from any other airline.

I just despise O'Leary and his cronies and the utterly crap working conditions they force upon their employees. Still doesnt make me any less pissed of about my flight cancellations though.

Why do people bother with RA, dont get it....when airline competition is so fierce that ticket prices arent that much more expensive at quality airlines.

@ Tarmac - If you think they force below standard working conditions on their employees, why do you even consider using them?

Because I, like probably everyone else, pimp myself out to the lowest fare. Have a couple of mates that work for Ryanair and they tell me how bad it is.

Yeah, thats GREAT when you live near a major airport and have the choice. When I used to live in Windsor the choice was vast but unfortunately thats no longer the case as I no longer live there. Unfortunately Southampton is my nearest airport (<5 miles) and only Flybe fly to Edinburgh. Your statement above re ticket prices which 'arent that much more expensive' does not apply to them I can assure you....

Its not that I cannot afford to fly Flybe, just that I dont see WHY I should pay over the odds when someone else will fly me home for less.

Supermarkets and restaurants have to rely on deliveries in less than 1 day. Boeing was the weak link. Unfortunately because RA is a small airline, Boeing will f*ck them over before f*cking over another customer. Sometimes shit doesn't get delivered these days and there's nothing you can do about it. It breeds suspicion amongst customers and I know. I've been trying to send something important to someone via the Royal Fail. Sent it first class Tuesday, and it hadn't arrived by Friday, so I sent it guaranteed next day delivery on Friday. Still hadn't got there Saturday. I got refunded but the 3rd party probably doesn't trust me now and the problem is nothing to f*cking do with me.

I rang 0845 6020167. You'll have to negotiate your way through a maze of automated services but eventually you will reach something loosely resembling a humanoid. Quote your barcode from the receipt and if it hasn't got there, ask for a refund.

Note that the refund is only applicable if you pay for the guaranteed next day delivery service and they still fail.
