GPS Speed Limiter - JDM Version

Been going thru the manual and found this function that can realign the car's current location. Tomorrow, I will try to "realign" the car away from Japan (ie. somewhere in the Pacific ocean or Japan sea) and see if it will disable the limiter.

[Just some background information in case you were thinking. My car is in Hong Kong but for whatever reason, when I press the current location Sat Nav button, it will still show my current location in Yokohama Japan. It is actually quite hillarious seeing myself driving thru buildings and walls on the Nav map. Sat Nav status shows 3 dimensional reading with 4 satellites+, but still shows, Yokohama??]

it will not work. the speed limiter is always engaged UNLESS it detects you are actually at a race circuit in japan. i have tried to trick it before too and it did nothing.

just get the cobb device and turn off the limiter.

Okies, point taken, will forget about testing this out then.....

I am actually very interested in the Powerhouse Amuse Exhaust + Sports Cat (Silent Version) + their ECU (BBL Version).....

Any comments on them?

how much is the hks de-limiter again? and also GTR 23 THE WORLDS BEST R35 GT-R PERFORMANCE PARTS benji has one they made i belive from gtc-r.

amuse is a great solution. very expensive but great. best exhaust components yet for sure! ecu is pritty good aswell.

i was hoping to get someone to update and swap software on the hdd in the GT-R so that the sat nav and gps work other than japan on the import models. anyone wana take their hard drive from the gt-r and put it on the computer and check it out?

I have been reading up a lot on the various solutions and I have been told in multiple occasions that the HKS de-limited is NOT the most reliable solution at the moment.

I have always wanted to keep the ECU standard, but the Amuse Exhaust is soooo sexy that it is hard to pass..... figured if I upgrade the exhaust but keep the standard programme on the ECU will actually degrade the overall performance, hence the thought of the whole Amuse deal.... am I right?

Any thoughts are welcome.....

Hmmm...... there will be lots of pain involved with swapping out the data of the Sat Nav with localised data. It is not just about mapping, you will need routing information, re-routing information, all sorts of database for addresses search, category search etc ect yuck!! I would just fire up the iphone 3G, it works for me.....

Do any of the other official Nissan cars in HK have built in HDD GPS navigation? perhaps it might be possible to swap the JDM HDD with a localized one?

bnr33 - what's the function you talked about to "realign" the GPS? Is it only the one intended for use on track or does it actually allow you to realign?

Let me know what keypresses.

timechaser, this realign function is in the Sat Nav settings part, the proper use for this function is for when your GPS data is incorrectly represented on the currently location map where you can then realign the system.

This, does not, however, as i would have thought, unlock the speed limiter.
