street drag race featuring BMW M5 vs Mercedes CL65 vs Nissan GTR, from a stand still the GTR is nasty.

not sat in a r35 not even seen one on the roads

however i have sat in a cl63 not 65 and an m5

i honestly thaught the cl63 was fast but if thats what a r35 can do, i'm very impressed as i was shocked at the power the cl63 has

do you think it was a standard r35?

not racing in my book anyone can put there foot down in a straight line, zero skill, anyone with money can make a car that goes fast in a straight line (dont even need that much as topgrear proved with there nos banger jag)

my 11 year old could do that and shes a dog!

this vid is as pointless as a corvette imo

Stop being so politically correct guys - the instant gratification of beating someone from point A to B in a straight line is never pointless or a waste of time. It's primeval, built into human nature and gets the juices flowing...who cares if it's kind of childish?!?! Of course there is a skill to it Eric, getting the perfect start and watching the competition get smaller in your rear view mirror. Think some people need to stop lying to themselves and acting like they have never left some young pretender in their tyre smoke and not felt damn good about it

The only reason not to street race is cos someone innocent might get hurt, and that's why I myself don't go out looking to race - but as a competition, as a shot of adrenaline, for a brief few seconds, you know you love it!

i'm not being political at all. i'm saying it's pointless. they took some 400bhp+ cars and floored it from one light to the next and videoed it. we know nothing about how shite the drivers are or anything. i hate seeing the gt-r in these circumstances... makes it seem like a ricer...

once my fuel pumps are installed and I've completed remapping, I'm a gonna go hunt some big game. Lately at the night races in Seoul a CLK63 Black Series (with the big flared fenders) has been showing up, as well as the ever-present army of CGTs and various Ferraris. I expect some very close races!

One aspect that makes non-G8 countries interesting is that the supercars are driven by kids in their 20s - if you're 55 years old and wealthy in Korea, it's downright embarrassing to show up in a Lamborghini (viewed as immature and not befitting a man of such status). Which means that real-world challenges against cars you normally only read about are easily obtainable - just head out at midnight on Thursdays. These nouveau riche kids don't track their cars, so like it or lump it, if you want to know FOR REAL how your tuned GT-R stacks up against exotics, you've got to head out to that deserted/blocked off street, talk some trash, and have a go at it.
