Bloody thing. I wanted to burn a couple of CD's today, but all of a sudden the DVD/CD burner decides it ONLY likes DVDs. Gaaaah!
![]() Malware check, patch check, driver reinstall, restart, reboot, nothing. Dammitall, I really don't have time to spend two days reinstalling Windows and rebuilding the f***ing thing. ![]() Just noticed that Media Player is crapping out. Right, off to fix that in case it's demise has crippled the drive... I just love linked effects. Also known as chains-of-disaster. £^$*(&%^£%$"&^&&*(()!!!!!!!! Not a happy bunny. And I have the dentists at 17:20. Oh joy. |

Cause: CD Laser Failure
Known issue with this marque of rebranded Lite-On laptop drive.
Invested in an external burner (branded as double the speed of the old drive - actually four times faster in use), after some entertainment trying to find one locally as the netbook kids seem to have cornered the market down my way. |

Sigh
Here we go again. New and old burners acting up, will read not write. Strongly suspect a glitch with Roxio, as a previous error mysteriously disappeared when I upgraded to Creator 2009.
Muddaf***ers. Two hours wasted, and now Roxio UK support are closed. |
