overboost
i just swapped my turbos after a long problem shooting with my stock turbos ane wastegate.
when stock the car was unable to control boost with stock or after market boost controller. even with just them by passed and running of waste gate pressure. the car would get to 12 psi and climb in boost very slowly as the revs went up sometime only 15-16psi sometimes up to 18-19psi. after talk to a turbo workshop it was put down to week/faulty actuator. so i got my n1 lemans turbos ready and had them set to 1 bar 14.7 psi. now the car hits 1 bar boost and i can see the gat open as the boost settles but then it starts to build up again reaching 1.1 bar before redline. this is all off a defi gauage. however the hks evc shows 0.95 of a bar (its by passed just hooked up to show boost) in terms of set up of the car runs nismo dump pipes (these where on the stock turbos when i pulled them out), hks front pipes, super high flow cat, and super drager exhaust. intercooler is stock, most intercooler pipes changed to hard piping, hks ssqv x2, apexi power intake, hks evc 5, running of stock computer with no jap chips. anyone have any ideas what might be causing this or is this within tolerance? edit: car is an r32 gtr ps sorry for the long post |

well i have been thinking back to when installing the turbos and looking at the dump pipes could it be from them as the split pipe tappers
down from its origanl ID to a small flat plate which from memory is only about 1/3 of its size at the wastegate ![]() this is the best pic of the nismo pipes i can find |
