Steve from japcar4u has done a runner

hi guys,

i paid Steve @ Japcar4u a deposit for an R34 and i didnt win the auction and was promised my money back. He has now Fooked off to Turkey, the website now shows that they have ceased trading and Tony Wells who was the financial director is left to answer calls from angry customers who like me are trying to get there money back. Cant friggin believe this is happening after all he seemed to be such a genuine bloke. If i have to then i will get the police involved as he may have taked money off many others who face the same shite as i am.

I feel sorry for you, Hope you get your money back,
but there is a Japanese tuner that has been going for 20+ years who will not dissapear with your money, knows what they are looking for. Sugino san can buy from auction direct for you if you need. Please ask other members about our reputation

Well, judging by the rep Steve had built up on Skyline Owners forum and the rave reviews he had and my conversations with him, he seemed a really genuine bloke who tried his best for you. apparently he has gone to Turkey and will not answer any calls. I dont know whether or not the police will be interested at all. If i do buy a car if will be one that is already on uk waters.

Not sure the police will care, but go to the citizens advice beauro to see if small claims court can 'reach' turkey.

Of course you should get the police involved. As far as I know, theft is still illegal in the UK. He'll probably get councelling, income support, and sky telly, but you can't just let him get away with it - he'll only do it again.

well, i was told that he had an operation and then things started to go wrong for him from then on, i know that he had posted on the forum that he went for an op but that does not explain reasons for running off with someones hard earned cash and ruining there dreams of a lifetime.
